I am shocked to see negative comments about this restaurant.

I have been here for two wedding dinners and four lunches and can vouch for a fact that the food is yummy, service terrific, cleanliness impressive. Prices are fair.

The only snag is the air conditioning is quite cold as the restaurant is spacious.

Other than that, I love this place.

Parking can be challenging during functions and weekends.

We had 2 tables for family gathering. The service was bad. The captain was not friendly and has bad attitude. I think he must be poorly paid. The cutleries were smelly..it had the smell of cockroaches. Told the captain and instead of apologetic he was defensive. The prawns were stale and not fit for human consumption and had to return that plate to them. In summary, don't go there and we will never go there again. Not worth a single penny.

We had a company dinner for 12 at the end of November 2015. It was a weekday so there were only a few tables occupied in our section but the other section partitioned off was for another multi-national company with a bigger number of staff. We had called up earlier and pre-ordered our dishes from an affable Mr Tan who incidentally has been with the restaurant since its inception 4 years ago. We quoted our budget and he recommended the dishes which we were agreeable to. We regretted not ordering the starter dish of the Four Seasons cold plate which was a lovely combination of various appetizers. Anyway for starters we had the crispy Peking Duck skin which was really refreshing with a small assortment of greens in a wonderful plum sauce wrapped up in a crepe/pancake. They were delicious and were gone in no time. The flesh was cooked into another delicious dish with a yummy sauce. The suckling roast pig was alright but the skin could have been a bit crispier. It was served with mantou (steamed buns). Nothing to shout about. The vegetable platter consisted of lotus roots and assorted vegetables which was nice but a bit bland. The last time I ordered the same dish it tasted much better. The big prawns in a sour assam/tamarind gravy was delightful and it really perked up the hot steamed rice. We enjoyed the Japanese tofu in seafood sauce. We had a plate of roast chicken which was ordinary but nice. The fish cooked in the taucheong (preserved bean paste) was fresh and tasty but the gravy was a little salty. We finished with a mango dessert which was alright but a bit sweetish. Service was attentive and quick and food was served piping hot and almost immediately. Ming Garden restaurant caters to wedding dinners so it is hard to get a reservation during the weekends especially during the peak wedding months. From past experiences dinning in this restaurant, the food served during the weekends (if you can get a table) is much better than during the weekdays. This restaurant has a sister branch in Foong Wei Restaurant in Sri Bahari Road (reservation is recommended but parking there is a hassle!) and the food there is much better.

I was shocked to read all the negative feedback for this restaurant cause i went to this restaurant twice with my family , which was 2 days apart. It was our first 2 times to the restaurant, service was good, workers were attentive to our requests, drinks were topped up without being asked and the person who took down our orders were also friendly and took time to explain to us about the dishes we were not sure of. Food served was delicious, where we enjoyed so much on both occasions especially the peanut butter cream. I will definitely come back to this restaurant to sample their other special meals.

my friends wanted to plan for a wedding at this restaurant . But it seems that the service is too bad . We wait for our prawn for so long & it came out with just like a hawker prawn outside the hawker store . I'm very dissapointed with this . Make a complain to the manager about this & still have to pay for the service charge . I will never come here again .
