If you want fine dining in Sabah do not come here. If you want your serving staff to speak impeccable English then visit KFC across the road.

If you want an experience where you mix with locals, you may be the only westerns in here and the food is very reasonably priced and authentic then this is the place for you

We had two prawn dishes, beef curry, two soups, rice and beer for less than 100myr
about £17, we loved the traditional food, service and watching locals interacting!

But that's why we travel half way around the world.

Enjoy! We did.

Nice clean restaurant with plenty of attentive staff. We had several dishes including a very nice beef rendang - which was the prime reason for going to this restaurant.

Plenty of locals were eating here and the restaurant was busy - both are goods signs for us that this is a good place to eat.

Only disappointment was the lime juice which had a bit of an unappetising earthy taste.

There are plenty of other non-alcoholic drinks to choose from next time as we would be back for more of the same food.

Locals often flock this place which could only mean 2 things, it's reasonably priced and it's comfort food for the locals. This restaurant offers Baba Nyonya cuisines at great price and portion. We ordered medium sizes for 4 dishes with rice and it cost around RM95. The asam fish is definitely a recommendation by the shop owner and the curry chicken taste great too. Seafood are fresh and the squids are not chewy.

... their service could use some improvement as communication between the waitresses & kitchen staff seems to be lacking (they'd confused our table numbers & orders with another table that got there much later than us so...). But apart from that, their food were commendable as we're mainly there to try out their in-famous Assam Fish & it definitely did not dissapoint. Although the pricing might be a bit (more than) above average but their food tasted on par with the pricing. But do check your bills though since we can't seem to remember what the heck was the 'towel' that they were charging us (since we were only given a paper tissue for crying out loud)

Sometimes when you travel you're a little nervous about going into a local restaurant. How will I understand the menu? Will I be welcome? and so on. This restaurant is very friendly, with a mix of locals and tourists eating. It's fairly traditional - plastic-coated tables, slightly crowded, noisy, basic tableware - but you can't fault the food or the service. We tried all sorts of things and the children were happy with all of it (unheard of!). It was just spicy enough for everyone's tastes and the menu was vast. We ate heartily for about £25 for 4 people including drinks.
