We had our dinner at Suang Tain Seafood 2 nights in a row. The place has a good variety of live seafood to choose from and the prices are reasonable as well. We were pretty excited as well when we saw that coconut crabs were sold here. We ordered a huge one and it was definitely an experience for us. Will certainly be back for the coconut crabs the next time we come to Kota Kinabalu!

It's was our last day in kota kinabaru before heading to kundusang. Atmosphere and sitting is very similar to batam utama 777 seafood place if you have been there. Open space round table provided by each seafood restaurants but touting is not obvious so we feel pretty relax. There is many other seafood restaurants available to choose from. We order steam prawns, sweet potato leafs stir fried with garlic and a plate of seafood fried rice and 1kg of big clam look alike lala with garlic. The seafood is fresh, taste so so only. Service is attentive. All dishes can be selected from menu. Price like fish, crabs Lobsters at market price. Usually for 2 person, I would remind the captain to order small portion. So better ask before order. You can also choose and select the seafood you want and captain can recommend you what is nice to cook with. Overall the price we paid for is reasonable.

Certainly one to try for the experience alone, the hustle and bustle of this rather vast place with live seafood galore is worth the visit, couple that with delicious food, what more could you ask for !
I must admit to finding it a little uncomfortable to do to the tanks to choose which unlucky fish was to end up on my plate, but at lest then you know what you are eating.
Cooked fresh to order, to your desired liking definitely a place I would recommend.

Reasonably good place for dinner. Location is good and easy to locate.
Dishes were sizeable and everyone had more than enough to eat. We ordered a variety of dishes and each dish was cleaned up !
Prices were reasonable too.

We went there around 6 and there is still plenty table. It's good that we were arranged in air conditioned room. Then,We could choose from the seafood tanks for a varieties of fresh seafood. We ate sea cumcumber, crab with pepper, fish, prawn....all are well cooked. Worth to try.
