Booked a family room for myself, wife and three little ones. Room was spacious, clean and decent value for money. Hotel well situated with a breakfast place across the road. Reception staff were friendly, helpful and simply pleasant, made you feel very welcome. A grab fare from the airport to the hotel was 11-13MYR. Would stay again!

Stayed at Hotel Sixty3 on two separate occasions after being impressed with our first two night stay.

Before saying anything else - Room assigned will be the most important factor affecting your stay -

Our first stay was a backward facing room on a high floor, so room was quite and we had a great nights sleep - 5* experience - so that’s why we decided to stay a second time before flying from Kota early the next morning

Our second stay however was a forward main street facing room on a lower floor so unfortunately there was consistent noise from the street outside (mainly motorbikes and car traffic) so an inconsistent nights sleep was had 2* experience

Location wise the hotel is very central with loads of nearby shops and restaurants within 5 minutes walking distance.

The rooms were clean / extremely spacious with all mod facilities and decent wifi speeds

The staff were extremely helpful and were able to accommodate an early check-in during our second stay (perhaps our room was the only one available)

The hotel is mainly aimed at the oriental market and guests but was a very good standard even my western standards

Would I stay again? Yes - but only if the room is backward facing or on a high floor

I’m giving the benefit of the doubt with a 4 star review would be more appropriate would be 3.5*

We have stayed here a few times over the years and it’s always a pleasure. They have a great staff and really nice modern rooms. I noticed that they have now gone to using complimentary reusable glass water bottle to cut down on plastic waste. Centrally located with lots of shopping, restaurants and sightseeing within walking distance.
I highly recommend Hotel Sixty3 and will definitely be coming back.

The hotel is located at one end of Kota Kinabalu City, with convenient access to the Gaya market on Sundays. It is also located right opposite Old Town Coffee and Fook Yuen (good places for breakfast) and the shopping mall Suria Sabah, which is a great place for shopping. Rooms were quite huge, with good facilities. Check-in area looks a bit dodgy but otherwise decent hotel.

Only gripe was that the hotel imposed a RM 300 deposit per room on checking in which locked up a significant portion of our cash until we were leaving. Otherwise, not bad!

When returning to KK, it's impossible not to return to staying at this hotel. With its very strategic location, the hotel atmosphere is very comfortable and close to the popular Sunday market. There is no other hotel choice when returning to KK.
