My wife and I couldn’t recommend this tour more. From the moment Jimmy collected us from the airport we knew we had struck gold. His English was perfect and he really cared about his country and what he was to show us. We got really lucky in that there was only one other couple on our trip, who happened to be really nice people making it that bit more fun. The Orangutan sanctuary was a real joy to experience, there is some incredible work being done there and it’s supported hugely by the local community. The sun bear experience was shorter than I expected but again really great to get the opportunity to see. The highlight for my wife was the rainforest canopy walk. What a peaceful place, somewhere we could have spent 2/3 hours in. All in all I would definitely advise this day trip, even flying over and back from KK in the same day like we did. Jimmy and Borneo Eco Tours were amazing, I couldn’t recommend them enough.

After reading a lot of good reviews, I decided to book a tour with Borneo Eco Tours myself and I was not disappointed.
The pick-up at the airport was well organized and together with an Australian family and two British girls, I enjoyed the tour to the sanctuary where we could watch the feeding that a mother orangutan and her baby attended.
The drop-off in the city centre at my accommodation went well as well.

Our experience with Borneo Eco Tours and the Sakau Rainforest lodge exceeded our expectations. We spent 4 days and 3 nights at the lodge and saw so much wildlife! Orangutans, pygmy elephants, crocodiles, monkeys, 100s of birds. My 7 year old loved every minute - which is pretty amazing. The lectures and activities at the lodge kept us busy between river cruises, the food abundant and amazing, and our guides were extremely knowledgeable and local so they knew where to find the animals. We can't wait to go to another National Geographic Unique lodge - this was truly something special.

If you are looking for some adventure travel without the hassles of bus depots, taxis and sorting food for the family - plan a trip with Borneo Eco Tours. Over 13 days we went from KK to the caves in Mulu National Park, Dunham Valley, Tabin conservation forest, Sauku River Lodge, “Turtle Island” and back... Wildlife siting including wild Orangatangs, monkeys, birds... awesome.

This Agency provided excellent service at very reasonable rates and allowed my family with a 16 and 14 year old to see, do and learn so much without feeling micro-managed or herded around in a big group. Our girls loved it even more than Club Med! From my initial contact and back and forth planning with Jeaner the consultant to every pick-up, transfer and guided hike, boating or truck adventure it was seamless. They work with an incredibly organized, on the ground network of drivers, guides and accommodations. Every breakfast, lunch and dinner was provided without any hassle and every person involved knew our itinerary and needs better than I did! I could sit back and relax while exploring jungles, rivers and caves with my husband and kids.

The trip was well organized and the guides were excellent. The hike should not be taken lightly - it is a moderate rated hike, but with the humidity and insects, it can get a bit exhausting by the end! But the scenery and the trail is well marked and made it worth it all.
