Was a moderate quick hike up to the Signal Observatory on a very hot and humid day. Nice views and not overcrowded.

This is a modern observatory up a hill at the back of town that does provide good views of the city and the ocean and islands beyond. For some history go to the Atkinson Clock, the last surving building from WW2

Signal Hill Observatory looks like quite a funky building at night, with lots of flashing LED lights, but upon arrival it is a fairly derelict building that provides a good view of the city of KK. You get a good view of the city, taking in the contrasting modern buildings and the older style of town, but the actual observatory does not have information about the significance of the observatory (pretty sure its a relic from WW2 or the location was the site of a WW2 observatory). There is a cafe and it looks okay. The walk is short though and does kill about 30min-1hr of time if you are just wandering around KK. If you only have a day in KK and have other plans, this is not a 'must do' item.

We had a driver to take us around the city to view the Chinese Temple, City Mosque and we asked for the Museum rather than chocolate factory and market. There is a cafe shop, it is free to stop and view, will take a few minutes to view the modern skyline as most of the city rebuilt after end of WW2.
