A nice kayaking adventure and very helpfull guides. Had a bit of a problem with the kayak filling... read more
We chose to do bamboo rafting, although about 2/3rds of the way through I switched to a kayak. Our guide was Luke, who was both very professional and great fun. Our trip was somehow both relaxing and exercise, as we took in the beautiful flora and rocky outcrops along the Semadang river. All of the staff involved had great senses of humour and kept everyone fully entertained. The lunch was delicious, and rather different from food you can find in the city. I'd definitely recommend!
Went with friends. A tiring but wonderful trip ! My hands could barely move that evening & next day due to overuse of hand muscles :D however it was defenitely worth the experience. My friends loved it! Best pansuh ever~The guides were fabulous! Don't worry about not knowing how to swim. The river is calm & with life jacket on you will be alright. :D Thank you!
All correspondation was perfect and very correct and clear.
Pickup at hotel was comfortable and chauffeur Riko was even too early.

Best experience I had in Kuching, wunderful scenery, perfect guided, great crew and equipment ! Thx again for a wonderful day, will never forget !
I was on holiday with my 2 children (15 & 16) staying with my parents in Kuching. We booked on the spur of the moment the day before with Edward who got us onto the tour the next day (9.8.16). It costs around £40 each. We were picked up in an air conditioned mini van by Edward near to our house at a Petronas petrol station, joining 2 very nice Italian couples. The pleasant journey took an hour and we arrived at the start point in Kampong Rengoh. We waited for a little while for the rest of the group (9 others), who had started off an hour earlier to see orang utans. They saw 2 orang utans. We decided against joining the orang utan tour because we knew it would be too rushed. After a short safety briefing we set off in 10 double kayaks with 4 guides. We were provided with a 500ml bottle of water each. My daughter and son went in one kayak and I went with one guide (Dopez). We paddled downstream so it was very relaxing and we could enjoy the beautiful view. Unless you have waterproof cameras, don't bring your cameras or phones. Three of the guides had cameras and between them, almost 2000 photos were taken. These were quickly uploaded onto a CD at our final stop whilst we were getting washed and dried off and presented to us before we set off back to Kuching.
The total kayaking distance was 11 km. Due to the lack of rain, the water level was quite low which meant we kept hitting rocks and we didn't stop at the waterfall. This was especially apparent when we did body rafting, when butts were hit on the rocks.
All the guides were very friendly, but I was particularly impressed with Dopez who on discovering my son had lost one of his slippers, immediately paddled upstream to try find it. We did not find it but one of the Italian couples found it.
After 4 km, we stopped at a local village (Kampong Danu) for a buffet lunch. This was delicious and consisted of rice, chicken cooked in bamboo, okra in sambal sauce, local vegetable, fried anchovies, pineapple and watermelon.
After lunch we fed fishes from the bridge and also on the river.
The second half of the journey, we came across some beautiful limestone rock formations and a very tantalising robe climb made from dangling tree roots. My initial attempt to climb it caused me to capsize my kayak. The guide told us that earlier a Taiwanese gymnast had climbed 3 quarters of the way up and tied a red ribbon around it. My son was able to move the ribbon to the top.
Catching up with the others we arrived at our swimming location where we could either relax in the water or attempt to climb the tree trunk or rock face. The rocks have very sharp edges and I suffered a fairly deep cut which the guide had to administer first aid.
After 11 km we arrived at Kampong Semadang, our final stop.
We have been to Kuching many times previously but this will have to be remembered as the best day out in Kuching.
Activity was great fun and so were the guides that accompanied us. They made sure everybody knew what to do and were really spontanious and funny. Included (local) lunch was also very good, thanks for everything guys!
