Very beautiful. At the start you can choose between the red and blue trail. We chose the red one which goes all the way to the top. The blue trail will lead you to one of the waterfalls. If you are planning on doing the red trail, dont underestimate this! Even for experienced hikers. The last 50% of this trail is very steep where you also need to climb up several robe-ladders. It is all worth it because the view at the top is amazing. The whole route will take you approximately 6 to 7 hours. Bring enough water with you (at least 3 liters per person). Good luck!

We walked from the start to the second waterfall (part of the red route) and back on a part of the blue route (the first waterfall where you can cool down). This took about 3,5 hours. It was a great walk!! But I thought it was quite heavy near the second waterfall. We saw a monkey and the environment is beautiful with all the amazing trees around you. There weren't a lot of tourist so you almost walk on your own which was really nice!

We did this climb with our children (8, 10 and 12). The children are used to walk and to climb. The treck is not adviced for beginners, as its quite long (day trip) and it can be exposed. The second part of the climb is more difficult, as you have to climb on ropes. The gap between the stairs is sometimes big, and we had to secure our small daughter.
It took us 3.45 hours to reach the top and 3 hours to go down. The walk is wonderfull and the views are worth the effort. If you are used to walk, the trek can be done in a half day trip (2 to 3 hours up and 2 hours down)

We enjoyed the waterfall. The walk up to the waterfall was gorgeous and fun clambering about. The kids (6,3 and 10 month) enjoyed a lot. It was shady and warm and we enjoyed the sounds of the jungle and saw enormous ants, lizards, terrapin and birds. We swam and splashed to cool off during our blue trail walk. Definitely worth a visit. Surprisingly clean.

Climbed Mt Santubong a few times. It is very challenging as the path is not properly maintained and often you have to rely on collapsing rope ladders. Which proved to be a tough challenge as I was wearing slippers. I love the challenge though, so I had a good hike. The view at the top is pretty good, except that there is no real viewing platform and more than often the peak is shrouded in clouds. If you're up for the challenge, why not?
