this is a good place to experience and see for youself lives at the long house. it is a very unique house settlement with most of the house built with bamboo and link together to form a very long house hence the name. however there is not many activities there though if you are lucky you can see how they cook using very traditional methods of cooking.quite interesting.

We had a 3D2N stay in this longhouse.
The owner Edward organized a lot of interesting activities for my family of 4.according to the weather.
On the 1st day We trekked to the waterfall with 2 local guides, and we had a village tour in the afternoon.
On 2nd day, we had a bamboo raft along the river in the morning. We went to the hot spring in the afternoon.
While we were swimming in the waterfall & river, the guides were cooking the bamboo rice & bamboo chicken for us.
During the night, Edward had arranged a culture performance for us.
We enjoyed these adventure & educative activities, and the food too : )

It is an awesome experience that I'd recommend for teambuilding & family

Annah Rais Longhouse was a good experience visit being one of the nearest from Kuching, approximately 1 hour drive. A nice place to see and experience Bidayuh way of living and culture. Suggest to visit Annah Rais hot spring which was another 10 minutes drive to experience hot spring and natural river.

Nice homestay with families who invite tourists into their homes to experience the village live. Rooms are very basic but clean. Some have showers, others have water buckets ;-) Only 1 hours drive from Kuching, the technology is coming rapidly to this area. Still a good time to trek around the village.

Its will be an eye opener for those who has not seen a real long house. But do not expect the families there to be still in the stone aged living as they do have modern amenities like electricity, treated water and cable tv. Still, visitors can still experience how community living is like.
Before entering the long house, there is a small fee which you can pay at a little hut next to the car park. If not mistaken its RM5 per pax. This includes a taste of the local brew called tuak which basically a wine made from fermented rice. You can buy a bottle or two if it suits your taste buds!

If you drive across the wooded bridge you will reach a hot spring which is quite okay. about 5-10 mins slow drive.

If you like to spend a night or two at the longhouse, there are a few which provide homestay.
