If you love what I love about Bangkok - the smiles, the people, the random street food you have, the late nights at 7-11, the way they greet everyone with a 'WAI' (hands clasped together) and most importantly, their soul food, you will love Erawan.

You'd have to pre order of course but they take your calls with so much efficiency and courteousness. And they know their food - VERY WELL.

The tom yum was not too salty, not too sour and not too spicy. How does one get all these flavours in one bowl with such perfection in balance? I have no idea. But I highly recommend this place, for a good time, for good food.

Warning: It is very rare that I call a place overpriced. I think one should always be prepared to pay a little more for quality and for a nice environment. But considering that we brought our own wines (corkage is expected), the prices just felt a bit over the top. Yes, for the most part the food was excellent, even though I would have expected the manager (owner?) to recommend a more varied selection of starters. We ended up with starters that were all deep fried, in one way or another. Avoid the prawn cakes. Even though they are made with only prawns and no filler, they are hard, chewy and pretty underwhelming.
Don't get me wrong, if you are prepared to fork out around 300-400 a head for a Thai meal and know that you will be told that the kitchen closes at 9:15pm (?!?), it's not a bad place to go to.

Went there long time ago with my family. Love the taste of their crunchy vegetable dish specialty! Other dishes were great too!

The owner has something to be proud of, for making this restaurant one of the best Thai restaurants in town, putting other establishments which have invested more to shame. And the owner is not afraid to boast about their achievement as well.

Erawan came to top the charts not by being cheap, which they are not. Expect MYR80 to 100 per head. They do serve great Thai food, and the portion is not big either. Hats off the owners for being able to command a one-week waiting list despite their shortcomings.

Nestled in the middle of the ever busy and something sleazy Dataran Sunway, the restaurant has established itself as a powerhouse for Thai cuisine. They did this with simply good food. We tried but a few dishes only and found all of them to be great tasting.

The restaurant even went to the extent of some fine garnishing which is quite unique. Love their attention to detail.

Patrons, please park either in Giza or the multi-level parking nearby and walk to the restaurant. And by all means, do book beforehand or risk having to go to another restaurant.
