Our stay in the hotel was very peaceful and pleasant. It is interesting to know that inspite of busy district where it is located it has maintained it's atmosphere of serenity. Once you are inside the compound one would feel very safe and close to nature due to the existence of old trees and greens all around. The staff are courteous and very attentive to the needs of the guests. The one thing that I noticed is that you can still make the wood flooring shinier by using wax perhaps and the towels looks very much used already although it's clean. The food is superb and the surroundings well kept and clean.

One will not expect that there is this kind of hotel right smack in the middle of the busy part of the city. The Henry is quite a beautiful surprise. It's actually a compound composed of diff old houses that were restored and the room is tastefully designed with touches of old and new. Service is outstanding. On the downside, I wish they would change their towels to new, fluffy ones. Also, breakfast was delicious but limited. Other than that, my husband and I enjoyed our stay. It's a nice, quick break from the noise of the city.

My partner and I wished we had more time to explore the surrounding area, the hotel itself, like to sample all the TV channels and its amenities i.e. resto & pool. There are plenty of places to see and do nearby that we were interested in for the whole day and night and you can also travel a bit further by various public transport passing by to famous Manila tourist spots. We chose to walk by ourselves during the day, if you can get past the fact that you will pass a busy and possibly risky street before you reach the main roads. The only reason why I felt I can't give a full review is that we would have had to stay there for longer. For the short time that we were there, as unfortunately we had to stick to a schedule for our next trip, we enjoyed the welcoming, helpful and pleasant staff and warm shower. We had a peaceful rest in this secluded hotel and would return to this tastefully restored hotel another time to see more of what it has to offer. Plus, it is conveniently close to NAIA airport.

I had a great experience staying here. The place was quite relaxing and beautiful, wonderfully hidden from the hustle and bustle of the city. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The food was great. The rooms had a vintage Pilipino house feel to it but was wonderfully fitted with modern amenities. The bathroom was beautiful as well, complete with hot and cold shower.

Cons:

The street in front of the hotel was not a good sight to behold, it was busy with noisy vehicles, street vendors, trash everywhere. But I guess there is nothing the hotel can do about that. If you are staying here, get a room nearest to the lobby and away from the main gate.

The flooring on the second level is wooden. It might be a good idea to get a room on the upper level to avoid noise above your room.

Some of the staff were less intuitive and not provide assistance right away when they see I need assistance. Like the time I had difficulty closing the umbrella because it was raining hard. It took quite a while for the staff to offer help. But at least she did.

Airport transfer was expensive, typical of most hotels in the city.

They have an electronic gate that leads to the houses where the rooms are located and you need a key card to open it. But anyone can easily jump the hedges on the side. There is virtually no fence to prevent anyone from gaining access to the houses. So I don't get the idea of the electronic gate.

Overall it was a great place to stay in.

Room tip: Rooms nearest the hotel lobby are quieter, Rooms on the upper floors are quieter.
