We are a family of 5 and arrives in Moscow today. We were booked with Eesti and we're looking forward to our 4 nights stay in the central location. My husband had read in some reviews that sometimes it could be unreliable so he emailed them expressing his concerns and was assured that we would have the two rooms we booked I.e. A double and a triple. We received another email yesterday to say that our booking had been changed to another location . When we arrived at the new location the lady told us there was a problem with the booking. One of the rooms was double booked. She was very nice we could see it was not her fault. We left our bags in the double room and marched straight up to the main address for Eesti Airlines hostel . We spoke to a guy who told us he had sent us an email detailing alternative accommodation . We told him the second room was not available and my husband said he would give them a very poor review on Trip Advisor and other review sites. Basically he said he didn't care and that they were closing next month. We went back to the double room and the lady Wa able to give us another room. This is the first time this has ever happened and we have been using Hostel world and Trip Advidor for years. So I just want to say to other travellers do not book with Eesti Airlines Hostel. The guys attitude was appalling and we could have been stuck with no place to stay

This hostel is not the place I would have picked up if was travelling for leisure but because I had to go to Moscow for 1 night and didnt want to spend a lot of money then I think it was a great choice. Difficult to complain when paying such a small amount while staying in one of the prestigious areas in Moscow because any extra work will require financial investments and therefore price increase. Would only recommend to fix the sockets - they are hanging out and might cause fire one day, refresh paintings - that would definitely make a difference!! and remove yellow stains around shower cabin and sink. Walls are very thin so if you have noisy neighbors then better use ear plugs.

So overall its about ideal location and cheap accommodation right in the center of the city (exactly what I was looking for), very close to metro Mayakovskaya, friendly and helpful owner. Very comfortable bed and clean bed linen. Excellent Wi Fi signal. Free tea bags / coffee, this hostel would be perfect for long stay backpackers and 1 night stay for those looking for a cheap place. Booked for 1 night but because of cold weather and late flight extended my stay until 9 pm for half price only. Dont think of booking this place if you are capricious and looking for some extra comfort or luxury, this is budget hostel

I stayed in this hostel when I was in Moscow for transit and I loved it. The reception man was very polite and tactful. The hostel had everything I wished, hot water, silence, internet, and free tea )
As it was winter period, there was only one guest and myself.
The location is very close to Belarusskaya railway station, from where I took my express to Sheremetyevo airport.

best regards,
Serik from Kazakhstan

Room Tip: I had a standard bed in dorm room

Stayed at the Eesti Airlines Hostel (now days known as Moscow City Center Hostel) with a friend for one night at the beginning of our Trans-Mongolian journey. The hostel was pretty nice and the location was good. It took about 15-20 minutes to walk from the hostel to the Red Square. There's also a subway station literally just behind the corner of the building so if you don't feel like walking, you can always take a metro. We arrived in Moscow early in the morning and walked from the Yaroslavskaya train station to the hostel and it was hot!! So when they offer you a cold soft drink upon arrival it is great!

Service at the hostel was also very good. There was one Russian guy staying in our dorm who interacted a lot with a guy working at the hostel, so we weren't sure whether he worked there as well or not. Anyway, he spoke great English and helped us a lot. They also offer visa registration for free which is always nice. However, when we asked the guy who worked there to register our visas, he came back a moment later telling us that he can't do it until we've been in Russia for 72 hours - and this is not correct. You have to register if you are going to stay for more that 72 hours. Well, when we came back to the hostel after having lunch and some sightseeing, he handed us the completed registration forms. So he was able to do it after all. The next day when we were leaving, the guy from our room even took us to the subway station and helped us to buy tickets (we didn't speak Russian and they don't usually speak English so that was with great help) and told us how to get to the Kazan train station. I would stay at this property again and I would recommend it, good value for the money.
