It's a high end mall. That's it. I have been twice and I just don't get the allure of this place. There is ice cream, which is nice, but served by a rude woman who I am almost certain kept a $10 tip from our change. Outside, members of our group posed with characters in costumes and were told after the picture of the 6000 ruble price for the 4 people.

This is truly a western department store selling all well known brands. However I think it attracts many visitors not even for shopping but for its beautiful design. The building is truly impressive. It’s been redecorated inside and absolutely fascinating. There are many fast food restaurants on top floor where you can have a reasonably priced lunch. And of cause stop for Russian ice cream! It’s a must!

What a beautiful, gorgeous shopping centre! Really impressive. There are a lot of shops and cafes/restaurants, and all the main brands. Staff and security are very polite. Definitely visit if you're in the area!

This mall is located in the city centre just right on the Red square. It is one of the biggest malls in Russia featuring all international brands. There is no public wifi, toilets are charged (30 rub). There might be traffic jams around the area so the best way how to get here is by metro or to walk here.

The GUM (pronounced GOOM) is an exquisite department store with spectacular architecture!

Its captivating the façade extends for 794 ft (242 m) along Moscow’s infamous Red Square, directly opposite to Lenin’s mausoleum. If shopping not your thing, a visit inside is still worth it. With a skylight roof and three-level arcades, the GUM’s refined and ornate interior makes it a gem to discover.

Opened in 1893 as a trading centre, the GUM is home today to about 200 shops, including many upscale stores that carry luxury brands.

You can, however, find some affordable merchandise and food. On the ground floor there is a Soviet-era deli style “supermarket.” I bought delectable chocolate and other souvenirs. Try the ice cream! It is delicious and the line moves quickly.

GUM stands for Glavny Universalny Magazin (“Main Department Store”), formerly Gosudarstvenny Universalny Magazin (“State Department Store”). It is the largest department store in Russia.
