We have been dining at many Russian restaurants for nearly a week and it was a mixed experience at Severyanin. The restaurant itself is beautiful and the location is very central. Restaurant service-wise, we have undoubtedly experienced the best service from the waitress so far. She was attentive, polite and unobtrusive.
However it has to be about the food, not just dining experience. The Russian Borsch Soup was simply the best Borsch we have tasted. We also ordered the excellent Royal Soup with Goose. The Siberian White Salmon pie was a surprisingly delicious dish. For dessert, we had Halvah Delight which was heavenly.
Now for the negatives:
1. The Prime Beef steak was just average.
2. The venison was a bit dry.
3. The grilled Kamchatka crab legs were the most disappointing - too dry and definitely not worth the price.
