The atmosphere was very warm, and extremely kind the lady in the reception.
Big room and very good breakfast. Congratulation to the staff.

It's in an old abandoned place, when we arrived they give us problems because they ask the registration to join, when it's not necessary.... After fixed the troubles, the next day we leave the hotel and wanted to save our suitcase to walk and see city but the girl of the reception told that not, coz she told in Russia they don't do that... That's not true. The only one think good in the hotel, was the receptionist of the second day, so helpful and kind girl.

Centralish location of a nice town Rostov (25 mins taxi from airport), it's reasonably accessible to walk out to shopping or eating areas around, and feels pretty safe. To drive here, be prepared to take on narrow roads and shunt your way to find it. The hotel is spacious and clean and has good reception staff speaking English well. Room is good size (junior suite) and clean/tidy which costs 5500 Ruble (less than 60 pounds). Good free WIFI. As usual rooms are too warm about 25 so crank off the aircon and open the window to let in the cold air. Breakfast is ok, nothing special but adequate. I ate out, at a Georgian restaurant about 10 mins walk away so can't comment on the evening food in the hotel. Rostov is very hilly so in the depths of Winter expect to be sliding about on ice if you go out on foot.

Stayed there for two nights in April 2014, prior to boarding a river cruise.

Upon check-in, I was asked to pay more than the booked price; fortunately I had the original paperwork but still not a pleasant experience.

Could not have shower next morning because of dirty brown water coming out of the taps - had to wait for about 10 minutes (while covered in brown muck and shivering) before clean water re-appeared again.

And this was for a Deluxe Business Room; hate to think what the cheaper rooms are like.

On the upside, the room was clean and the staff friendly and eager to assist.

The location of the hotel is not great - sad part of town.

Room tip: Could not recommend this hotel
