This is an excellent museum, NOT to miss when i n the city. Beautiful buildings, excellent exhibition, a lot to learn, simply the place to see.

The museum was nice and the displays interesting. You can actually go into the excavated tomb which was cool. I was amazed by the amount of relics recovered from the tomb. We rented the audio guides which worked well and are available in eight languages. However the displays did have English translations so they were not necessary. We didn't have any children with us but the ones I saw seemed a bit bored.

If you are on a business trip and have only a few hours. Weighing the options and unsure? Visit this museum.

This tomb/burial site was discovered in 1983 and has been preserved as is, in the same location, ever since!

Think of it for a moment, they found something incredible from a cultural and archaeological perspective, bang in the middle of town and then they preserved it in the best possible manner, and we now have the privilege to walk into that location and see it fort hand!

It won't take long, 2 hours are enough. But it will have a lasting impression. Just go for it.

While the tomb and artifacts of this well maintained museum are fascinating, what really impressed me was the pillow collection--hundreds of beautiful, ceramic pillows. Quite a collection!

Thank Gabriele

I was worried it would be tough to manage looking around with our 4-year old who is quite talkative and gets 'Bored' too soon, but was pleasantly surprised to find a kids' play area inside decent enough to keep her busy while we peeked through the exhibits on the second floor. Top floor has an excellent video screen showing the burial details which floored my little one again.
It was a good learning experience for me, and the pillows, jewellery, jade dress, and all the articles are quite beautiful. Plus side is it is quite close to the Yuexiu park so the visit can be combined.
