As a budget hotel i could say it is very good, strongly recommend. Clean quite and it is near to every sight by bus or ride a bike.
There is a local market just across the street, just go there in the morning to experience the local people's life.

Stayed here as part of a tour and it was probably one of the nicer hotels of the entire trip. We were generally staying in budget hotels and this was the only one that didn’t smell of stale smoke. Everything seemed fairly new and very clean. It was easy to catch the bus to many of the tourist sites and was fairly close to a major train station.

Also enjoyed a hot pot meal at Haidilao (Zhonglou Shangquan location), which was about a 15 minute walk away. This was by far the best Haidilao location of several visited on this trip.

A decent nights sleep to be had here in a no frills budget hotel. The breakfast is served on a prison style tray with the most unappetising breakfast I’ve ever seen. I just skipped it and headed for the coffee.

We spent 3 nights in the hotel.

Room: The room was a standard Ibis room. It was medium size with a comfortable bed.

Cleanliness: OK (not that I go looking) however for a non-smoking room there were smoke stains on the ceiling.

Aircon: Worked well

Staff: The staff spoke OK English

Location: Great for the city and not too far from the train station (walking distance)

Overall: Amazingly cheap and for this reason would likely use again.

The Ibis hotel chain is pretty standard stuff. The location of this one is within the old city walls, and it is in walking distance (admittedly, a healthy walk) of the Bell Tower area where there are lots of interesting foodstalls to try out. Or you can take any of several buses to the sights. Breakfast is rather scratch, geared to the Chinese palate, and coffee is atrocious. Try and get there early to avoid the hordes of students.
