When we were in Kyoto for a week, we ate at Pound twice, on our first evening and on our last. Each table is enclosed behind sliding, slated doors, and seats about 6, with a gas grill in the center that the server turns on. The Kobe beef is well worth the extra expense, but the regular cured-and-aged beef is also good. You get 5-6 thin slices of beef roughly 1.5" x 3" long per order. We shared the Pound salad both times -- definitely large enough for two. We ordered the Beef Curry one night as a supplement (yum!) and the kimchi sampler the other night. All the food was excellent, although I could have done without the cod's intestines in the kimchi sampler. The wines were reasonably priced, on a par with US restaurants, maybe even slightly cheaper.
