We came here for yakatori and were pleased. They serve many chicken options of which we tried and recommend: chicken leg, chicken wing, heart, and liver. Did not like the gizzards. The beef was tender and seasoned well. The shisho pepper was roasted to perfection and the rice with (raw) egg was simple but satisfying.

Service was attentive and some staff speak limited English, so you can order without knowing Japanese. They have tables and bar seating.

We had their recommended menu, and topped up with some more fantastic Yakitori. Every single one of them delight! Cosy atmosphere, nice staff and excellent tastes!

Decided to go here after browsing tripadvisor. Best experience in Kyoto, really recommended, if you’re in doubt don’t, go there, you won’t leave disappointed. The young but very skilled chef specializes in the typical Yakitori kind of meals, but cooks them so perfectly they’re impossible to resist. This means a nice charcoal grill with lovely sticks of pure deliciousness on them: chicken, innards, mushrooms, or vegetables. Without reservation, we were lucky to get a seat at the bar right at the grill to see the chef perform his magic. We started by sharing a combo (~900) some rice and fried chicken (~700), then ordered a few more Yakitori because they were so delicious and we couldn’t get enough of them. Make sure to order sake with or after your meal! Tourists do find this place, but it’s good to see the locals also love it, which to me confirms the quality even more. Would visit again for sure, keep up the great work!!!

Excellent choice away from all the hoards of tourists on a quiet corner in Gion. Both table and counter seating. English menu and set options especially for new dinners to sample some of the most popular (and not so adventurous if you like) dishes. Chicken was perfectly cooked and delicious. Only downside is it's a smoking restaurant, as are most yakitori bars. Definitely recommend.
