Located in the heart of Osaka, 2 mins walk from nipponbashi station and 8 mins from namba station. Most stalls open around 11. I would advise to come early as it gets really busy after 12. Great place for fresh seafood and souvenirs. Bring cash as most stalls don't accept cash.

Said to be the kitchen of Osaka people, I had quite high expectations before visiting. However, the market turned out to be a total tourist trap. Very expensive seafood and beef, and the fruits were not fresh at all. I am surprised to see so many tourists crowding around the stalls as the prices are comparable to Hong Kong. In addition, there were not much variety amongst the stalls. 95% of them are either selling grilled seafood, wagyu beef, snacks or beauty products. It is a total waste of time, so do not go!

Another very big Japanese market and you can find about anything you want here. Food and other items abound. Walk around and take your time. Even saw some air plants here.

We headed early towards this market from our hotel at America mura...
The crowd was thin ..and we could walk around easily
There were a lot of seafood and fruits...feast for the senses.
I tried a few..but the prices can be high..like a stick of caramelized torched pineapple was a little pricey.. so don’t get carried away with all you see....just prioritize ...walk around a bit ..and some stall owners forbid you to eat in front of their stalls..like those selling clothes or non-food items...
There were a lot of tourists...and this made the place busy at noon...
If you haven’t tried this kind of market...then you must visit one.. for the culture .
