Clean, stylish, polite friendly staff. Good breakfast. The accessible location was a great bonus being near Bukit Bitang metro and Jalan Alor eat street. Just wished I'd stayed longer for a massage, next time!

The Anggun is in the process of renovation at the time of writing but don';t worry it will not impact on your stay. We were there for three days and hardly noticed it at all as it is taking place mainly on the 4th or top floor.
The great thing about this place is its location. It is in the heart of KL centre in Bukit Bintang but you would never know it. It is right next door to the world famous food street Jalan Alor something not to be missed.
It has lovely large colonial style rooms with hard wood floors an four poster beds. The best thing about the place though is that it is so quiet! The black out curtains are also highly effective - so much so that they had to ring us at 10.30 am to remind us that breakfast finessed at 11 am. 711 type shops are all close by if you want to buy your own food but being next to Jalan Alor who would?
Breakfast is very good but it is disappointing to see local dishes starting to disappear from the menu in favour of pasta and pizza. Bring back your famous Nasi Lemak and Roti Canai please!!
Great staff, TV is a bit hit and miss but WiFi is very good.
DOn't miss this one - a real gem and a nice change from characterless western hotels.

Stayed for one night, friendly and helpful staff. Room was clean, and great location. It was recommended by my sister, she loves Anggun Boutique Hotel. Will definitely recommend to my friends also. Good job, keep it up!

Lovely boutique hotel with great attention to detail both inside and out. The decor and history of the place gave it a real authentic feel. Oozing character. Clean and staff very friendly. Great location - one street away from vibrant ‘Eat Street’. Great choice.

My immediate impression of the neighbourhood in which the Anggun is situated was one of a hot and shambolic sensory melee. The boundary between the street and the various establishments that line it is fairly blurred so buildings inherit some of the street's grungy appearance and the ambience is free to waft across the threshold. The hotel's porch and overhanging balconies provide an immediate welcome and shelter, and form the setting for an external bar area complete with armchairs, sofas and a discreet under-floor aquarium. A few hanging paper lanterns affords patrons a feeling of intimacy and separation from the street as the night falls and the bar area provides a delightful vantage point from which to enjoy comfortable warmth of the evening and to watch the street bustle go by. The hotel's bar and kitchen offer a decent range of drinks and dishes, both local and European, for good value. We particularly enjoyed the nasi goreng followed up by a coconut shake.

Step through the front door, and all is cool and calm in the air-conditioned lobby, where more table and chairs provide a respite from the outside world. The reception staff were exceptionally welcoming, friendly, efficient and quickly got us to our room within the relatively serene inner sanctum of the hotel. The rooms are free of superfluous frills and equipped with all the comforts that the overwhelmed and overheated traveller needs, not least the extremely comfortable bed.

The only reason for not giving full marks is the occasional lack of refinement .. trailing power cables, shoogly external decking and suchlike. Clearly not a deliberate style choice, although it has a certain charm.

The Anggun is a comfortable and welcoming refuge in a the heart of a bustling an authentic merchant district. I'd be more than happy to go back if I were holidaying in that part of KL again.

Room tip: Ground-level room is available
