Went for lunch with friends. Food is very nice. Service is excellent. Advance booking is recommended as this restaurant can be busy.

This restaurant has all the elements to succeed except good food. I've never paid so much for a meal that tasted this terrible. It's advertised as authentic malay cuisine but In reality it's simply terrible versions of authentic dishes which would cost an arm and a leg. The service was fair, ambiance nice (even though it felt like a furnace), but the food was way below palatable levels. The best part is , this restaurant is trying to portray fine dining with Michelin star prices but is miles away from that mark. So.. If you are interested in trying authentic malay food but not really particular about how it taste and what it cost then perhaps this would tick most boxes..

Had my late lunch there. The only menu selection available was high tea menu. What we had?

1. Mee Rebus Udang - Delicious and fresh ingredients used. The broth was thick and very well flavoured. I highly recommend this dish to anyone who would like to try an authentic dish. Rate 5/5

2. Nasi Lemak Pandan - Pandan flavoured nasi lemak served with fried chicken, beef rendang and sambal udang (prawn). The dish is good but it is not unique. Enjoyed the meal but it is not something I look for on my next visit. Rate 3.75/5

3. Cucur Udang - Crispy fritters with spring onions, onion, fresh prawns and bean sprout. Served with chilli sauce and peanut sauce. Enjoyable! Tasty sauces with big prawns. However, I would stop eating before it actually finishes due to oily deep fried taste. Rate 4/5.

4. Bubur Pulut Hitam with Coconut Ice Cream - Amazingly, it turned out to be as we expected. I am a big fan of Bubur Pulut Hitam. The presentation is different. The coconut milk and the pulut hitam it self is not blended together, the palm sugar is served on the side, you can manage the sweetness to your liking. The cocnut ice cream is awesome! Definitely this is the highlight of my visit. Rate 5/5

Reservation is recommended. We came for high tea. Dishes consist of: Mee rebus udang, laksa johor, assorted Malay kueh, cendol, pulut kuning, satay.. All were super delicious, rich in taste!

Ordered extra cucur udang - huge portion with huge prawns!

Definitely worth the price. You pay for good quality delicious food. Will definitely come back to try other dishes.

It’s my first visit to De.Wan 1958 although I have read raving reviews about it.
Charming entrance and the interior vibrant n flowery as the man himself Datuk Chef Wan.
A lovely decor and a pleasant ambiance.
Food was delicious.
Spicy sweet n sourish flavours all which whets your appetite.
My favourites, Kambing Kuzi, tender n spicy.
Cucur Udang, crunchy n crispy with tasty thick peanut sauce. Ayam Percik, well grilled with spices n a rich creamy coconut sauce.
Desserts were superb too.
Friendly staff. Fast n great service.
Yes a return visit for sure.
