This is an absolutely excellent tour, offered every M, W, and Sat at 9am starting at the City Gallery. We couldn't believe there were only a few people along. Our tour guide, Jane, was a wealth of knowledge and very passionate about the city. We learned so much and entered a few buildings we wouldn't have been able to otherwise, including the Royal Selangor Club which is typically only open to members and guests. Excellent and amazingly free! Kudos to KL for offering this wonderful tour.

Thank you for your comments! The Free Dataran Merdeka Guided Tour is an initiative by KL City Hall and collaborates with KL City Gallery to showcase and glorify Dataran as its a very Historical Enclave consisting of old colonial buildings, structures, landmarks .... rich in KL history ! The guides are very knowlegeable and the best in town too! We encourage more people to join this free walk to gain a deep insight into KL's history, and the guides will definitely feed you with lots of untold stories! TQ again and hope to see you in KL again soon!

I have read this attraction review at TA and really interested to visit and provide my little comment as well as a local Malaysian view. First of all I would like to give a thumb up for Arch initiative to build the KL miniature and provide free entrance and also promote KL heritage. Even thou they are promoting their Arch collection products but I feel it is no harm to visit the gallery for the KL introduction.

Here is my review on KL City Gallery: -

Attraction Highlight: Once you enter the gallery, then you will visit the arch collection of KL city gallery and Jamek Mosque miniature follow by some arts collection. Follow the path and go to level 1 for the Kuala Lumpur city miniature with day and night view. I feel impress with the creative idea with night view in miniature. Then you can visit KL Tower or KLCC for the actual view.

Attraction Tip: As mention by other TA members, remember to visit this attraction on the very first day before any other attraction because it is a KL introduction and also miniature of KL. Also remember to capture a photo of the ‘I love KL’ sculpture in front of the gallery. The founder also creates the guided tour ‘Kuala Lumpur Walks & Tours Map’ that you may be interested as well.

Hi Joey,
Thank you so much for your detailed comments about the gallery. Its great that you appreciate ARCH and the Founder's initiative in promoting KL and our heritage through ARCH gifts and souvenirs as well as all the attractions in the gallery. There is no other such a place that glorifies Dataran and KL in such a unique and spectacular way too, as I am sure you are impressed with the KL City Model on 1st floor.
Thank you again for your visit and its people like you, who make a big difference in inspiring others to love our city! Hope to see you again at the gallery soon and keep supporting us, cheers!

You can get a copy of best KL tourist map from this gallery as the map has the least advertisement. There is an exclusive room where you can have a view of the whole KL city development in its miniature. The miniature is very fine and detailed. Love it so much! There are a lot of fine and detailed wooden carving and souvenir.

We are in KL for 3 days and today, the 2nd and we visited this place. In my view this is the place you should visit on your day 1 in KL. It provides a lot information about Kuala Lumpur, its history from old time to modern time, which certainly helps you to understand it better and plan your trip according. After visiting it today we have modified out itinerary a bit.

The miniature model of KL City and some building is good and so the commentary on the film. Its an excellent place for photography too.
