Stayed there on a business trip and great location and within easy reach to everything a business traveler needs with KLCC Mall right beside the hotel. Got the hotel to dispatch a car to and from the airport and checked in directly in the room. Great service, comfortable bed, everything works in the hotel and probably one of the best equipped gyms. I'll be back!

Exactly what you would expect from a 5-star hotel. Exceptional service, fantastic location and impeccable rooms. The beds were a welcome treat after a few days in Borneo - very luxurious. The service on the club lounge was amazing - special thanks to Nizam! Great views of the Petronas Towers

Room Tip: pay the extra for the tower view - worth it!

After a period of travelling and as fan of the Mandarin Oriental brand, I decided to reserve a table in the Mosaic restaurant - a buffet-style food offering (unusual for hotels of this calibre).

Excited, we took our seat and enjoy a very good meal (steak, asian, fish and much more). This is not like a buffet in the sense that food is freshly prepared in front of you, and not sat around for endless periods of time. The quality was mostly good - although it was apparent that some sections were 'closing down' for the evening. This isn't something I expect from the Mandarin.

In terms of service, it was quite inattentive and slow, and no one member of staff focused upon our table. One waiter also seemed quite 'casual' in his service delivery. Drinks also took a very long time to arrive, although these were made very well from the bar in the lobby.

Overall, a good experience, but it does not live up to the Mandarin Oriental brand and service that I know they are capable of.

Dear lawbuff01

It was a pleasure to welcome you to our hotel and I am sorry to hear of your less than satisfactory dining experience at Mosaic.

I have taken good note of your feedback and my humble apologies for the shortcomings and negative impression reflected. Rest assured we will take quick action to resolve the issues and re-brief the team to improve our service level.

My team and I look forward to the pleasure of welcoming you back to our hotel for a much more pleasurable experience. Your kind patronage is much appreciated.

This hotel utterly delighted us from the moment we stepped through its doors and into the beautiful foyer. We wanted a place where we could relax in the middle of a large city and the MO ticked all the boxes. There was not only a stunning view of the KLCC park and its illuminated dancing water fountains, but also of the surrounding skyscrapers lit up at night. Add to that a delightful infinity pool for much-needed swims in very humid weather and we could not have asked for more ...

... But there was more! We could hardly wait to go down to breakfast each day and tuck into the sumptuous array of food, after which we felt we could actually make a decision about whether to go shopping, sightseeing, or just laze about by the pool. Not only was breakfast a sight for sore eyes - we absolutely loved the hotel's Chinese restaurant, where we had two delicious meals and were given not only window seats but complimentary appetizers and desserts, and generally pampered, even to the extent of one of the staff providing me with a shawl in case the air conditioning proved excessive!

We had some laundry done and it was returned beautifully starched and folded ready for our flight home.

Nothing was too much trouble for anyone. Housekeeping kept our room immaculate in spite of the mess we made, the pool staff cheerfully rescued my husband in a monsoon downpour, and everyone was unfailingly friendly and helpful. We were even brought a birthday card and some birthday cake on the day of my husband's birthday.

Having read some comments about "dated" rooms in these reviews, I have to say that we thought our room was extremely comfortable and the fact that it hadn't been modernised didn't bother us at all. We didn't find the room "dated" as we are perhaps more traditional than younger guests.

I must say that even in spite of some pretty dire weather I enjoyed my first visit to KL far more than I had expected and in large part this was due to having such a wonderful "home" for our five days there. And I almost forgot to say that the MO was extremely good value for money too, at a very acceptable £120 per night for the room and breakfast.

A big thank you to everyone who worked to make our stay so memorable!
