We stayed in 2 interconnecting rooms at the Westin over the holidays. Overall, it was a little disappointing compared to other Marriott and Westin hotels we have stayed at in the past. Apart from the location which was superb and opposite Pavilion, Bukit Bintang and Lot 10, we felt that there were lots of areas for improvement.
Firstly, the twin rooms had twin single beds which is quite different from other Westin hotels which are twin double beds. The mattress was also a little saggy. The king room had a large king which was comfortable and not saggy. Secondly, the bath robe was not changed and although was hung neatly, had stains so we could not use it. Thirdly, the mini bar was empty - for the price paid, I think they could have provided some complimentary refreshments. The shower gels, shampoo etc were super tiny - finished at one go! So for a family with kids, we had to keep asking for more. The car park exit machine for payment was spoilt and we had to go up and down to check with the lobby staff. The check in counter staff just told us to tell the guy at the car park booth but the guy was missing from the booth so we waited a while. They should have a better system for their parking for hotel guests.
The staff that stood out was the friendly porter at the front entrance who provided us with tips on where to go for meals and was nice and friendly. Otherwise, the usual Malaysian friendliness was missing from the rest of the staff.
