Had our wedding at Westin KL and was one of the BEST decisions!

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 19 Jun 2022
Had our wedding at the Westin KL in APR 2022 and I am very impressed with how the team, especially Cheryl and Gary handled and organised our special day. The wedding turns out perfect and all the guests had fun during the wedding!

It wasn't just about the wedding dinner that stood out for us, but the effort to help us out with family requests, handling payments out of working hours, last-minute requests etc. where it is very difficult and stressful to plan for a wedding during covid times. Yet, They worked tirelessly to help accommodate us as best as possible.

We weren't the easiest couple to deal with, but they made great strides to help us arrange and to make sure everything went smoothly for us, even without a wedding planner involved.

If you're looking for a wedding venue to host your wedding, I would highly recommend Westin KL for their hospitality, and their awesome team handling events- who are ever so willing to cater to your every need.

Just like many couples out there looking for a wedding venue, we were sceptical at first. But after how everything went, I am glad to report that it was one of the best decisions for the wedding.

I am sure if you were to choose Westin KL, you know that you'll be in good hands.
Well done to Gary and Cheryl as well as the team at Westin KL!

The concierge really stood out for us. Dinesh, Sani, Jamil were particularly helpful and kind. Their service was fabulous.
The food was average, the room clean, the elevators need better sensors!!
Overall, the staff was really nice to us.

We stayed in 2 interconnecting rooms at the Westin over the holidays. Overall, it was a little disappointing compared to other Marriott and Westin hotels we have stayed at in the past. Apart from the location which was superb and opposite Pavilion, Bukit Bintang and Lot 10, we felt that there were lots of areas for improvement.

Firstly, the twin rooms had twin single beds which is quite different from other Westin hotels which are twin double beds. The mattress was also a little saggy. The king room had a large king which was comfortable and not saggy. Secondly, the bath robe was not changed and although was hung neatly, had stains so we could not use it. Thirdly, the mini bar was empty - for the price paid, I think they could have provided some complimentary refreshments. The shower gels, shampoo etc were super tiny - finished at one go! So for a family with kids, we had to keep asking for more. The car park exit machine for payment was spoilt and we had to go up and down to check with the lobby staff. The check in counter staff just told us to tell the guy at the car park booth but the guy was missing from the booth so we waited a while. They should have a better system for their parking for hotel guests.

The staff that stood out was the friendly porter at the front entrance who provided us with tips on where to go for meals and was nice and friendly. Otherwise, the usual Malaysian friendliness was missing from the rest of the staff.

Room tip: Hutong at Lot 10 for good food nearby.

Had to move room and then bailed out after one night before checking into the JW Marriott next door.

1. Aircon stuck on 16c - had to move room
2. Several room lights not working. The remaining lights so dim I had to use my iPhone torch to open my suitcase
3. Shower head dangling off the wall and also hits the shower door so you need to squeeze past the door.
4. So-called "Heavenly Bed" was totally shot. Woke up with a bad back due to the tremendous sag
5. Generally the rooms look old and grubby
6. Almost entirely local channels only on the TV
7. Brown water from the taps
8. Sticky tables in the restaurant
9. Woeful drinks menu in the restaurant/bar
10. Understaffed after office hours

Not a 5-star property.

Fantastic location, right in the shopping area of Bukit Bintang, across from Pavilion KL. Room is spacious, modern, clean and has great view over the city. Traffic in front of the hotel while we were there is quite busy as it was a long weekend holiday and the area is filled with tourists and locals but the hotel offers a sanctuary admits the hustle and bustle of the city. In room dining arrived on time & nice presentation as well, taste wise unfortunately just ok. Would love to stay there again simply because of its location.
