I braved the heat for a long walk to this museum, because it's supposed to be good but far away from the nearest subway stop. When I got there, I could not get buy a ticket because I was out of cash and no cards were accepted. I had to walk all the way back. Not a good way to spend a big chunk of my afternoon.

For those who know the constitution of Malaysia (the way the Federation of States was formed), it's a bit of a problem when it comes to religions. Muslims claim to be the part of the state religion, and since actual movements seem to impose severe sanctions on those who might question that, I won't elaborate on that any further.
Nevertheless, if you are interested in Islam, this museum is worth a visit. It is not organised to bring you a different perspective, on the contrary, the purpose is to focus on the status quo. Being said that, the collection is certainly worth a visit.

This is a small, but outstanding museum. It has models of many of the world's biggest mosques, but its' other displays are of a small range of magnificent examples of the various types of artifacts, rather than lots of very similar items in often more extensive collections, A carefully chosen panorama of Islamic Art. I was not expecting much from this museum, but found it one of the very best I have seen.
