KL Bird Park is an amazing place to get up close to all sorts of birds. Please go early morning as its hot and the mosquitos can be quite bad. BRING BUG SPRAY!!!
My daughter and myself our bird enthusiasts. Our love of birds and being in the KL Bird Park was a dream for us both. From native Hornbills to the African Grey Parrot to the colorful Peacock, you will be able to find all our favorites here.

It is a large open air aviary, with different sections and many education centers to keep you informed (and air conditioned). You can feed Emu's and Ostrich's, get your picture taken with different parrots, and watch entertaining shows.
The KL Bird Park is a great way to spend a morning. Also close to the Butterfly Park, Botanical Gardens, and Police Museum.

Been here in 2015. The best place to do bird photography with excellent planning and maintenance. Costs 50 Ringgit. Must visit if you are bird lover.

Visited this place a couple of days ago. It is a good place to take the whole family there is something for everyone. Very interesting seeing a lot of different types of birds.
I just felt that the tickets and the shops inside were quite expensive.

The admission charge for foreigner is Rm67 (yes, it raised price from Rm50). The last Tripadvisor reviewer two pages ago mentioned it was Rm50 and he was complaining high cost ! The cost for local is only Rm27 with mycard. This is old time entrenched Institutionalized Discrimination at work. Advanced country like Singapore and Western Countries do not charge separate higher fees for foreigners.

Many visitors review mentioned about bring bottle water and sunscreen block, but I read 5 pages of review and did not find anyone mentioning mosquito repellent.

after 5 minutes walk (at 3pm bright sunlight hot and humid) inside the park my bare feet was bitten by mosquito. Luckily I had brought along mosquito repellent and it did not cross my mind that in the middle of the city there was mosquito.

I advise wearing walking shoes with real good thread for friction as the paved walkway going up and down could be slippery at some places.

The park is extensive with plenty of peacock or an overwhelming number of peacock (ever heard of population control?). The Park management should have put some thought to it and read the visitor comments.

Yes, it is pathetic that to take photo with the colorful bird you need to pay. There were 2 employees sitting at a corner where a few colorful South American birds were display. The notion of trying to squeeze a few more ringgit out of tourist (local or foreign) reflect the mindset of the management.

The flock of flamingoes did not show shade of the traditional pinkish red color. a hundred of them stay on a shallow pool. As I understand the pinkish red color comes from their particular seafood diet. The park management personal should look into this to restore the beauty of these birds.

In the children education area there were some facts that were interesting, such as.. to find out:
Ostrich cannot walk backward
which bird has their eyes larger than their brain
bird has bone lighter than their feather
name a bird that catch yawning.

When you exit thru the souvenir shops there were lines of taxi (about 10 to 15) waiting for business. No use trying to save a couple of Ringgit and walk in the up and downhill twisting narrow road way in the hot and humid 110 degree F temperature (felt like) to get out of the area. I did see a few foreign visitors walking in the myrid of twist and turn roadway to get into the birdpark, I hope they did not get lost because the signs are poor.
