Been in Sofitel ,Philippines twice with hubby and we always had nice memories here. Very nice place to stay, clean room & very good service .

But the swimming pool is not really clean sometimes.You can tell that sometimes that water is not that clean. The last time we're there, i had a swim for 2 times. But I noticed just after 2 days I had skin itchiness and had really itchy patch in the right arm. But view in the swimming pool is really good.

The lift is a bit annoying as it keeps on coming back up and down and not bringing you sometimes to the right floor you wanted to go. Sometimes door key wont work in the lift. And they normally make it full of visitors before it will go as sometimes somebody's operating the lift.

I love the scenery from the hotel looking towards Manila bay .
WOULD LOVE TO COMEBACK HERE AGAIN WITH MY FAMILY FOR SURE .

I've always loved Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila and have been staying there for 3 times now.

My last stay was from 22-24 September, and I am very glad to be given a room at 6am even if the check in time is at 2pm.

They are undergoing some major face lift at the moment, hence, the noise.

The only negative I can say about the hotel is that I had to let them know that I want my room to be made up because when I arrived at night, it wasn't made up

Room tip: Get a bay view room!

A nice hotel away from the city centre and on calming shores, near the Coconut Palace and the Convention Centre. SM Mall of Asia is also close by but a disclaimer: getting taxis from the mall in the evening, can be a nightmare. Whilst the hotel facilities, pools and restaurants are generally in great form (the pastry shop and dinner buffet are exceptional), rooms are a bit outdated. Several room changes had to occur because of the damp, musty atmosphere (which some staff are well aware of). Other than that staff are generally accommodating and helpful.

The hotel was under renovation after the last typhoon.Would have been nice to be told so during booking as we mainly came for my son birthday to have dinner at Spiral which was close.The buffet upstiars set up and food is miles away from Spiral.This was a great disapointment.
Service at the pool is very poor , tables are not clean , mine was full of ants due to a yogurth left by a previous customer. No one notices that the customer had left .Also waiters sepnd more time around the bar than around the pool so we need go to the bar to get an order or the menu.Same for the bill.
As the normal door is closed it would have been logical to be able to get towels near the baby pool as all guests now arrive from that door and not the opposite side of the pool.
We had a mal functioning lock , I had to go four times up and down from the room to the reception to change the key which did not work then call twice for a technicain who could not repair the door who then called an engineer etc.. the process lasted one hour to open the door and then 45 minutes at least to repair the lock...
