If you want to see a beautiful sunset, then head over to Manila bay. Take the sunset tour or have a beer by the bay. It's a lot cleaner now than a few years back and there is always something to see around the area.

We visited Manila where the people are friendly and whereas the weather was mild during our visit. The bay ares is festive with early morning walkers, runners, boaters, and much more. But, one must be villigant of pick pickpocket and scam artists. There are also, horse carriages on the bay. The carriages’ drivers will take you on a site seeing tour if you are interested (for a price). Good food, music and shopping are steps away from the bay. Lastly, Be sure to negotiate hard in the markets.

Looks great from a distance. Up close it's a big sewer. Efforts to clean it up have had only a short-term effect.

Malate is the place where one can most appreciate historic and beautiful Manila Bay. One can visit historic Malate Church and from there, do a walking or biking tour of the baywalk which includes Rizal Park and its gardens. Upon return, one can stop at the Aristocrat, a family restaurant that dates back into 30’s. From the Aristocrat, one can enjoy the grand spectacle of the Manila Bay Sunset.

Manila Bay is a natural harbor in the capital of the Philippines. It is one of the points of entry to the city via maritime vessels. People usually line up its long breakwater for early morning or late afternoon exercise, strolling, or simply sitting on one of the benches in the area to view a spectacular sunset. The harbor area is surrounded by hotels, restaurants, recreation areas, some government offices, etc. Located in the same bay is the famous Corregidor Island, a silent witness to the final stage of the war between the Japanese and the American troops during WWII. I would suggest that you join a very well organized day-tour to the island. Departure area is from the CCP Complex at around 7:00 AM.

Being a native of Manila, I have witnessed how Manila Bay has evolved in time. I remember the days when its waters were still clean and good for swimming, very much unlike today. Its waters are now dirty, smelly and polluted (although some people still take a dip in them once in a while).

One place you may visit in the area is the Manila Ocean Park, the biggest and prime aquarium in the country. From there, you can visit Rizal Park and nearby Intramuros.
