Years ago I owned a live music bar in Austin Tx. We had open mic nights on Wednesday. Sometimes chickens, sometimes feathers. The Rialto does this on Tuesday nights and I wouldn't miss this event. There is a really good group of musicians and singers and even a wacky poet. When I say these musicians are good, I judge by some of the performers who played in my bar in Austin (Jerry Jeff Walker, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Timbuck 3, Beto and the Fairlanes, Mark Luke Daniels, Richard. Patteroo and the Bayou Bandits, Roger Harris)

Decded to celebrate New Years Eve here and see a production of Always Patsy Cline.
Very much a fun evening, met some very nice Texans and saw and heard some great Patsy Cline rendintions..
On the downside, the catered dinner was a disaster. A piece of meat closer to shoe leather. Plus very disorganized in their timing and planning. You can't serve 150 plus people in less then an hour. Not the theatres fault, but the caterers.

Definitely attend one of their productions or other special events.
Great volunteer staff also.

Thank Sharon K

Happy hour 5:00 so had a beer made in Shiner TX. Musicians trickled in till we had 6. Tapas were made by a caterer and were delicious for $8. People were very friendly to us visitors.

I recently moved to the Aransas Pass area and discovered the Rialto by chance. The pick up local musicians on Tues. nights are absolutely wonderful. It is happy hour from 5-7pm, and tapas are available to munch. Give the place a try!

We visited on a Tuesday open mic. Our teen was able to get on the rotation for piano/ukulele, and the regulars were kind and welcoming. Drinks during HH were $2.50, so that was bueno. Bear in mind that soda is $3, so it is more cost effective to get your pinot grigio on. This is an older theatre with only a handful of tables and a small bar. They were making fish tacos for $8 per plate (we didn't eat). Nice romantic atmosphere with Christmas lights/fake candle at table. Nice to hear different music from different people.
