The gardens were very nice! We chose them as a meeting place for someone we had not seen recently. It was a great location to meet and walk around as we talked and caught up. There are a variety of plants and the dinosaurs/prehistoric gardens are a very great touch

Compared to other Botanical Gardens around the world, Zilker Botanical Garden is just average at best. It is a pleasant place to stroll through, but when you compare to others I have been to, this just cannot stand up. It was not curated very well, no signage that highlighted what you would see or were seeing. Plus, there were a lot of wedding and professional photo shoots going on which made looking at things awkward as they were standing and taking photos in the nicest spots. Given that you have to pay (cash only FYI) to get in, they really should not allow so many photo shoots going on at once. Been to stunning botanical gardens around the world, including in the US, and most are free. This one just does not hold up.

Well worth the visit. This is a peaceful and beautiful place! Easy to get to and easy to park. Send a couple of hours in this amazing garden!

1st off we visited in December while on long walk and didn't expect much to be in bloom. Wasn't crowded which was great for us, quiet and peaceful. Really enjoyed the Isamu Taniguchi Japanese Garden and the many butterflies on the Doug Blachly Butterfly Trail and Garden. I rated it average because if you've been to other city botanical gardens this will likely compare. Don't compare it to the NY Botanical Garden.
