Looking over the Potomac to dine is a pleasure in itself. Add to that good seafood and very pleasant serving staff and you have a lovely evening out to dine!

The salmon special was perfectly cooked as was the snapper. Nice accompaniments and wine made this a good meal. The shared dessert finished the meal nicely.

Alexandria is a quaint town with excellent dining establishments. A great place to stay when visiting DC.

We went with a large group on Monday night and they accommodated both an extra person and a nice table near the windows - beautiful view. The waitress was really helpful and kind - we had people from 5 different countries and she was attentive. The food was delicious and the atmosphere is very nice.

I’ve lived in Alexandria for 7 years and never went to the chart house. Now I know why. It sits high above the water touting great views and expensive prices. One would think good food would be included. The menu is lame at best. Seafood heavy obviously but poorly executed. The salad bar must hang out with Ruby Tuesday’s garden bar and take suggestion from their menu. Iceberg lettuce and veggies with a Waldorf salad. Come on chart house you are better than that. The crab cake appetizer was $16 for 1 crab cake! Ok I’ll look past the price and small portion of it was amazing...swing and a miss. It was room temp at best and served with cold crab and cold corn salsa making it essentially-cold. The mango avocado stack was equally disappointing. It was avocado, pico, mango, and crab (I think) stuffed into a tube shape served with...nothing. I used the free crackers to make this bland concoction suitable for consumption. You cannot even call the bottom layer guacamole as I believe guacamole would be personally offended to be compared to this tasteless paste. The 1 redeeming quality was a large wine menu that made this disappointing meal more palatable. We had 2 apps, salad bar, and wine for $100. I do not suffer from sticker shock, remember were in Old Towne. What I did have was buyers remorse. This restaurant seems like it needs a remix to stay relevant because they’re tune is over played.

but terrible service...45 minutes to get us our first drink. Tables quite small for the big app plates. Not to cosy feeling.

But great seafood, good view.

We arrived at Chart House without a reservation on Sunday about noon. We were told we could not be seated until 1:30 but we could sit in the lounge area right away and order there. Mimosas are 99 cents and $2.50 for a Bloody Mary with brunch. The brunch menu is excellent, not typical, and comes with the best salad bar I have ever seen. This is quite expensive, but frankly worth it. Treat someone to Sunday Brunch at Chart House and enjoy a great meal with a view of the National Harbor. Expect to pay for it though.
