Central Waters Brewing Co, Amherst, WI: Central Waters is about to celebrate its 20th anniversary, a fact which speaks to the quality of their beers. The brewery has had a number of different locations, all in central Wisconsin, as well as a number of different owners.
They moved to their current location in Amherst, Wisconsin, in 2007 and it is a beautiful facility encompassing a brewery and a very nice tap room in a rustic industrial style. They also have a large patio which can be enjoyed during the warmer months.
I tried three of their beers during my visit, HHG American Pale Ale, Rift IPA and Honey Blonde Ale. All three were very good and, as expected, I enjoyed the APA and IPA most, due to their hoppiness and level of bitterness. The Honey Blonde is also very good with a softer, less bitter palate.
This brewery has several very good beers and I look forward to trying more whether at their brewery of elsewhere.
I highly recommend a visit to the brewery where you will receive a very warm welcome from the staff and enjoy the ambiance while tasting some very good beers.

Our family was camping nearby, so finally got this checked off our bucket list. We stopped by in time for a tour on Friday night and due to the usual tour guide's being out, we actually got a tour from the owner. Our family was the only ones on the tour and Paul did a fantastic job explaining the steps in getting a beer to your glass. He even held the attention of our two kids for pretty much the entire tour, so great job! We've been on a number of brewery tours before, but it was nice getting a tour from someone who actually has the experience in all the areas, not just trained on a speech. By the time the tour was done, the tap room was pretty busy, so we ended up getting a growler to go. We did appreciate the option of a food truck outside that we could have grabbed dinner from, but had plans back at the campground instead. The growler of Mudpuppie Porter was greatly enjoyed back at the campfire that night! Very reasonable prices, we'll be back again next time we're in town.

Great microbrewery! Been wanting to check this place out for years since discovering their Bourbon Barrel Stout and was not disappointed. Arrived in the early afternoon on a Saturday. Tried a couple great beers and took the tour. Tour was great as you are able to actually walk in the brewery among the equipment and see things up close. Not just watch a video or view from a catwalk like the large breweries. Best part was the barrel aging room, heaven. After the tour and another cold one, we checked in at the Amherst Inn, just minutes away. After dinner, we walked back and tried a few more beers in the Tap Room. Prices and selections are great.

Great seasonal taps. Great live music! New addition provides a great open space. Try the Shine On or Honey Blonde.

This place is excellent. We visited on a Friday afternoon and were very pleased to see a food truck pull up shortly after we got there. Specialty flight of beers were amazing. Stay for the tour if you get the chance. The owner gave us our tour and it was awesome.
