We liked the hotel a lot and think it's great value for money. Positives are great location, it feels safe, good breakfast and the reception staff are very helpful. We definitely recommend their airport pick up service.
The room was a bit noisy but Salvador is a noisy place so nothing the hotel can do about it. The only negative is the bathroom door doesn't leave much privacy. In principle its clean but they could improve on cleanliness overall.
Definitely would stay there again though.

A very attractive hotel, perfectly situated and with a lovely breakfast with a fantastic view. The only real negative was the slight smell of sewage that emanated from the bathroom which was somewhat off-putting. An otherwise excellent place to stay.

The location of the hotel in Pelourinho is perfect. It's close to the Elevador Lacerda and to the wonderful centro histórico. The hotel is stylish with a really nice ambience, the room was big and clean, WIFI was strong and the staff outstanding. On the first evening I was welcomed by George, who a) does the best Caipirinhas I've ever had and b) speaks several languages fluently. Also the other staff were super nice and spoke many languages. I heard German, French, English and Portguese. I did a city tour organized by the hotel staff which was really interesting. I'd recommend it to anyone who stays for the first time in Salvador (guide Pedro is fluent in English and French). Also the taxi pickup at the airport worked smoothly. Breakfast was good, although the fruits should be covered - there were many flies.

To all smokers: You have to go outside to smoke (in front of the entrance). But there you can't really smoke in peace as people keep asking for cigarettes. A calm smoking place somewhere in the backyard would be nice.

Overall I had a great experience and would recommend staying there.

You have a few options in historical Pelourinho and this is one of the best. You will not get this quality for this amount of money elsewhere. This tastefully furnished atmospheric hotel has a welcoming, helpful staff speaking perfect English (as well as other languages), comfortable rooms with good bedding and a perfect location (although you shouldn't venture into the side streets). It has a section called "spa" which is not really living up to this description but never mind because the masseuse that you can book there is a warm and skilled professional that will make you feel born again. George in the bar makes the best caipirinhas in town and will give you a great perspective on Salvador and Brazil in general. Special thanks to him. The breakfast was generous and varied although maybe slightly sweeter than wholesome. The standard is perhaps better described as guesthouse than a better hotel, but this does not take anything away from the experience. The only thing we missed was a terrace or garden of some sort. I really recommend this beautiful and welcoming place.

From the moment we (my boyfriend and I) walked into this hotel we knew we made the right choice. They welcomed us late in the middle of the night with no problems. We used their airport pick up service for 110 $R. Taxis would probably charge the same if not more. We got settled in and got some rest for the next day. The area is located overlooking an open square. The building is so colorful and they have designed it with such attention to historical Salvador.
The breakfast was delicious and had so many options with fresh juices each day. The breakfast area looks out over the square with 6 old, beautiful french doors letting in the nearby ocean breeze and sun of the day!
We stayed in a room with a king size bed and a french door to the alley way that let in a great breeze from time to time. The bed was very comfortable and huge. The bathroom is small, but beautiful and met our needs perfectly. Their was an air conditioner as well. The room is tiny, but for sleeping and getting ready it was perfect. It is beautifully decorated.
There is a small bar and cafe there. We had such delicious Mango Caipirinhas from Jorge at the small bar! The conversations with him were just as great! He gave us tons of tips about Salvador and places to see. You have to try one when you go! New favorite drink!
We loved the location. It was close to all the major squares, restaurants and churches. The Elevator and Town hall are just around the corner to get down to the port if you are heading somewhere by boat or to the local Mercado. Also, we used Ubers to go to the local beach Porto da Barra and other nearby neighborhoods. It was an easy pick up location.
We had a wonderful time here. The staff was great and spoke English! So helpful and ful of ideas. We will be recommending it to all our friends.
