A total gem of a hotel, which feels more like a beautiful luxurious private home than a hotel at all. You're welcomed like an old friend, the service is exceptional and tailored completely to you, so you leave feeling like you've stayed with family. The food here is to die for - the best pao de quejo in Brazil (and we sampled a lot!), beautiful canapes with cocktails served by the pool, traditional Brazilian dishes served with flair and modern twists. Views across the city are amazing - some of the best in town, and the swimming pool area is so inviting, it's the cause of much instagram attention! The rooms are comfortable and well designed, made to feel like guest rooms in a home than a hotel, but with lots of luxurious touches. Music plays gently in the background - sedate and subtle in the daytime, and more lively and funky pre-dinner. We loved it so much here that we decided to forego a day of sightseeing and just stay and enjoy the atmosphere - I suspect many guests will do the same. Tennis lessons with a pro coach are highly recommended (he spoke no English, we spoke no Portuguese, and somehow through sign language and a lot of laughs we had a fabulous couple of hours on the court). This is quite unlike a hotel experience - it's so much more. We couldn't recommend it highly enough and are sure it's going to be THE hot spot in Rio in no time at all - go now while you can still get in!
