Nice older hotel, been updated a bit. Paid $100 in June 2016. One block to Ave. Atlantica, the main drag down Cocacabana Beach. Attentive staff, standard but very expansive breakfast. Flat screen TVs, mini frig, large bathroom and room had a small terrace. Stayed 4 nights, at each end of a business total.

Decent place to stay in Rio, very closer to famous beaches and 10 mins walk to Rio Sul Shopping Center which are perfect! They gave us a very good map for sightings. As well we are impressed at the size of bedroom that look big and very clean. The staff are very helpful especially solved the problem we had and we left the hotel happier. Plenty of breakfast buffet. It include free wifi which is very helpful. I definitely recommend anyone to go there.

I emailed Ramiro at Acapulco Hotel (R. Gustavo Sampaio, 854 - Leme, Rio de Janeiro - RJ, 22010-010, Brazil) below:

My recent stay at your hotel, before i feedback to booking.com and tripadvisor, i would like to express that we are not impressed about laundry fee you charged us.

I was told a price will be confirm after collect our laundry as he unable to give us prices. We have one loaded in one plastic bag, that is less under than 1kg. We were charged 194 BRL! (£38.36). We visited seven cities across south america, i have not seen hotels where we stay charge like that.

We love your hotel but on our last day, we feel like we was massively ripped off.

197 BRL for one bag of laundry, absolute disgrace.

I hope to hear from you on this situation, Thank you

So far they have not reply so I posted this to warn you all. They only reply when I query re: book a room beforehand.

Gloomy Rooms bad break fast no facilities in the hotel very dingy corridors except for the proximity to Copacubana beach. Lighting is bad. Bathrooms are very small and especially western commode is so claustrophobic

Very good localization and accommodation are confortable and always clean. Always I've been hosted. Nearly the Copacabana beach, only 1 square from there you have entretainment all time. It's a reasonable price.
