There are 8 rooms per floor. The ones ending 03, 04, 05, and 06 are tiny, airless and nasty. Don't take the chance of staying in these rooms. The others are bigger and better. The staff are nice and the location is good. But my time here was miserable.

Room tip: Do not stay in the rooms ending 03, 04, 05 or 06.

I feel like I'm an expert in the Copa Rio hotel since I've spent 20 days here for the Olympics. I would recommend it. The location is very good, with a friendly little cafe/night spot around the corner (Follies) and a high-quality buffet place next door (Temperate), and the beach is only a block away. You can also walk to Ipanema, which I did several times. Never felt unsafe. The wireless is spotty and, as someone who needed it to work in the room, that was extremely annoying. The breakfast also got a bit tiresome, but overall it was fine.

Basic hotel very tired room with wall view no outside window. The only good thing was rooftop pool and great views apart from that it was expensive for a sad room.
Location is good for both beaches and breakfast passable but not great . Overall was good location.

Excellent views over Copacabana from the roof top terrace, fine staff, good room with air conditioning, breakfast was fine, location fantastic. There is a good evening menu in the hotel, good quality food and the carpaccio was excellent.

Friend and myself decided to spend 4-days in Rio, en-route to Machu Picchu, Peru. We were traveling thrifty and found Copacabana Rio, reasonably priced and well located.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast, included in the price was scrumptious and sufficient to keep you going well into the day. Recommend the delicious and freshly made crispy bread rolls.

The initial aesthetic look would make visitors think twice of their choice and inside the building, furniture and fittings are old and aged. But I must confess that we had one of the best hotel sleeps, which was all that we were really looking for.

If you want glitz & bling bling, look elsewhere, but if you want clean, neat and reasonable, I would defnitely recommend the Copacabana Rio Hotel.
