Booked hotel during world cup 14. Impressed for price and location. This was one of the most well priced hotel. Did not have high expectation reading earlier reviews. Were impressed. Service is well managed. Of course you have problem with English all over Rio so was not specific. The hotel provided free lock to safe so did not take any chances reading previous reviews. Stayed for 6 nights. Very satisfied. Location Location Location Price Price Price. Cant beat. Well Managed, well serviced, well maintained. 2 block takes you to center of Copa Cabana. In middle of restaurants and shops. I disagree with some blogs earlier. Our experience during world cup season was very pleasant. Recommend this Hotel to everyone and will revisit if get chance. As always take precaution, be safe dont be careless and you can enjoy Rio. Its not the hotel its Rio. Be a carioka or a carioki enjoy the beach run to the beach.

Room Tip: Always ask for the free safe locks, lock every prescious item. Free yourself and run to the beach.

Stayed here for just 1 night after Germany vs France WC game. Pleasantly surprised, hotel is in great location just 2 blocks from Copacabana beach, the breakfast was excellent, staff friendly and room was clean & comfy. They stored our bags during the day and were happy to check in at an rather late odd hour after the game! We had the best (hot!) shower on trip also! Well priced considering WC rates also.

Good location, very close to the beach. The room with bathroom for 3 was clean enough. Unfortunately noisy (street downstairs is very busy). Breakfast included and not bad (specially the fruit). The lobby looks good but once you go upstairs it doesn't look that good (old and dirty). It is expensive but apparently all Rio is the same. For a 3 stars hotel it could really be better. They forgot to clean the room once and we needed to ask twice for toilet paper and soap...
THEY DON'T HAVE FREE INTERNET/WIFI. YOU CAN PAY 0.2 REAIS FOR 1 MINUTE OR 15 REAIS A DAY BUT THE CONNECTION IS REALLY BAD...

Location is so-so. About 5 minutes from the Copacabana. That`s only my recommending point. One of two Elevators is out of order and, furthermore when I check out, other elevator becomes also broken. It means I'm forced to climb up to 10th floor on foot, and down to the ground floor.
They need renovation ASAP before the World Cup in 2014 and the Olympic in 2016.

After specifically telling the cleaning staff we did not want our room cleaned we came back to find a man cleaning the room. He was unusually friendly and then quickly left. We checked our valuables and we found that $100 was missing (we deliberately left our cash in the room because we were advised not to walk around Rio with excess money.)

We immediately brought this theft to the attention of the front desk, but were told that the staff member had just left for the day and that they would speak with him tomorrow.

The next morning there was no mention of the incident and we had to wait until the manager got in the afternoon to follow up. The manager said he spoke with the staff and that the staff member denied seeing the money. We said we new for a fact that the member stole the money as we had counted it earlier in the previous day and the hotel confirmed via security camera that he was the only one to enter the room. However, they didn't offer any further solution.

We asked if they would at least be willing to waive our internet charges (they charge about $7.50 USD/day PER A DEVICE in the room). They agreed and we though the matter was more or less settled. The staff also advised that we report the matter to the police AN ENTIRE DAY AFTER THE EVENT.

After coming back later we were told that the owner had come by and instructed the manager NOT to waive our internet fees after the manager had agreed to do this previously. One English speaking staff member on duty apologized but said he could do nothing more. He did however encourage us to leave a negative review of the hotel! When staff encourage customers to leave negative reviews it says a lot.

In addition to being robbed by the cleaning staff, the hotel was also unsatisfactory in many ways. It was old and cramped, the rooms were dirty, the toilet was in disrepair and there was constant construction noise. Keep in mind that rooms cost about $180 USD/night.

This was a horrible hotel and I would not recommend it under any circumstances.

Room Tip: Do not stay at the hotel.
