“What's not to like here!”
Reviewed 1 September 2011

We booked three rooms facing the river in the newest section of Flying Saddles. Very clean, large rooms with all the extras one would expect. What we loved-sleeping in a quiet setting, with the door open to let the cool, clean air in. An early am thunder and lightening storm added to the thrill!
The grounds are manicured, the landscaping adds to the tranquility. We encountered a man with a broom, not a blower, sweeping up leaves.
Pool very large, good for swimming laps or playing; hot tub was hot! Great patio area outside pool for just relaxing, or we could sit outside our rooms on narrow deck and use the chairs and table for cocktails.
Restaurant reviews mixed, but over all favorable. Great clam chowder everyone agreed. Salad bar so-so, greens limp and soup was not a hit. We tried the Creole Shrimp, Crab Cakes, Chicken Marsala and all very good.
This is a true resort, plan on staying and just sitting in all the comfy chairs provided and enjoying the views. We had a medical emergency and hotel staff was helpful with late checkout.

Room Tip: Best rooms face the river and wonderful mountain views. Our rooms were newer and did not lack anythi...

The old section that we stayed in was not particularly clean. The carpet was old and burned. The fixtures were old and unattractive. The lodge is complete with gift shop, restaurant, bar, etc. and the new units that our friends stayed in were considerably better.

If we ever returned (we won't), we would DEFINITELY stay in the new section ONLY.

The staff fouled up our five month old reservation and split our rooms. Their only comment when confronted as to how this happened was to give us a surly response that "that's what you get when you book through Hotels.com", which really irritated me.

Stayed here with friends on a multi-state trip. The hotel and grounds are very nice, as is the pool and spa. The rooms are very inviting, clean, quiet and comfortable. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay. The only negative we experienced was with the restaurant. The waiter somehow screwed up our tickets so badly that it actually took longer for us to cash out then it did to order and eat our meals. There were only nine of us, and the restaurant was nowhere near capacity that night. Frustrating, since several of us ordered the salad bar hoping to eat quickly and get on with the evening.

This place is absolutely top notch! Excellent rates, the rooms are HUGE, CLEAN and MODERN and the staff is 1st Rate! They go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. This place has it all: bar, restaurant, tennis, pool, fitness center, laundry, on site liquor store, outdoor patio for restaurant and bar, well maintained grounds and it backs right up to the Snake River. You can fish right there. Plus, they'll probably cook your catch for you for supper if you ask. - That's how cool they are.
The food in the restaurant is EXCELLENT and not bend-you-over-priced like it is in Jackson. I can't say enough about how great this place is. No need to stay in Jackson and get ripped off. Stay here instead. J-Hole is only about a 40 minute drive north through the Snake River Canyon, which is a beautiful drive, to get there. Plus you don't have to deal with the CRUSH of all the touristas and knot-heads in Jackson.
You absolutely won't go wrong staying at Flying Saddle. Absolutely.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that backs to the river. That way you don't hear the J-Hole worker traffic.

Very nice rooms, friendly staff, beautiful setting. Everything is well taken care of. With great attention to the details.
We watched a moose swimming in the Snake River. It is a beautiful 36 mile drive to Jackson Hole.
