Fish is fresh and awesome! We did the OMAKASE and it is incredible. One of the best sushis outside JAPAN. Dessert is also incredible, i had lime sorbet with sake gelatin cubes. A bit on the pricey side but worth every penny.

This restaurant is hidden behind a standard white gate and as soon as you're welcomed in, you're taken into a warm atmosphere.
We sat at the counter and were served directly from Jun. Jun might seem serious and quiet but don't hold back from starting a conversation with him; it took one question for him to start chatting with everyone and he talked all night long with us.
Service was impeccable and food couldn't be fresher. It was amazing to see Jun preparing sushi right in front of us.
I give it a 4 star rating because at times it was really hard to take in the sushi pieces prepared with wasabi. Mind yourself, they were all prepared with wasabi, taking away the enjoyment of chewing into it and instead turning into a head burning sensation.
I didn't care at all it was mostly all sushi, but it did bother me to feel like it was overloaded with wasabi.
Price wise it is crazy expensive but I didn't feel like it was not worth it.

The suggested menu was excellent. A little too much sushi finished off with a great fish dish. No English menu so a little bit of portugese is necessary.

We visited here on a couple of recommendations from locals as part of a 'gastronomic' break in Sao Paolo. In brief:

We loved . . .the location (it looked like a closed garage when we arrived!), the intimate smart interior, the freshness of each dish

We weren't so keen on . . .we ordered the equivalent of a 'degustacion' as this usually showcases the best any restaurant has on offer. Whilst the dishes were of a great quality there was way too much sushi - there was 16 pieces each, which with the exception of the last set of 4 were more or less all the same. We could have done with just 8 pieces and then an additional dish from the broader menu.

This is a great restaurant but we would recommend ordering from the menu to get a good variety. PS For the people that it matters to, there was little or no English spoken.

Jun Sakamoto provides a wide experience for ocidental guests, but it is a deep dive on simple, well prepared and unforgettable sushis. Those are seasoned to perfection by the sushiman with no space for extra wasabi or shoyu....only a very good ginger conserve slices.
Dessert was not at the level of the tasting, specially considering that there are better desserts out on the menu.
The ambience is also simple and clean rounding up the great experience (prices are high also) feeling you had.
