This small restaurant in a non traditional gastronimic neighborhood offers a very good spanish food and a joyful and eficient service. Try some typical drinks like "tinto de verano", a refreshing combination of red wine, vermouth, soda and ice.

It may be because my sister and I visited on a Monday, but we are not willing to ever take that risk again. She ordered a Pucchero. Hospital food tastes better. It was a plate of light grey-ish-green water with some pieces of dehydrated sausages floating in it, some noodle and absolutely no seasoning of any kind. Not even salt. It looked like they collected a plate of that from a trough. I got yellow inedible overcooked rice soaked in oil with again absolutely no seasoning, and pieces of a poor octopus that died in vain. We never leave food in our plates. We left 95% of it and the waiter did not even bother asking why. That must be routine at Carmen La Loca. In time, its sister restaurant "Maripili" possibly shares the same kitchen and cooks as they are next-door to each other. Donate your money to some charity. It will serve a much better purpose.

This is a relatively new place owned by the owners of Mirapili next door. Its menu complements it and expands its traditional Spanish tapas by focusing on more seafood plates and gourmet choices, like sweetbreads, blood sausage, and "rocky mountain oysters". The calamari and the squid were perfectly made. All this accompanied by a great Rioja Crianza. Seventh heaven for me but not for everyone. The restaurant is near the USA Consulate in the Jardim Hipico neighborhood.

What a disappointment. Had read about their wine selection. The first two attempts were useless as while the wine was on the list they did not have them. We finished with a Spanish wine which is not even on the wine list.
The food was OK but nothing special. My wife's lamb chops she thought to be "rubbery"
Service however was good
