Description: Marcos Bassi, son of Italian, grew up in the neighborhood of Bras, downtown Sao Paulo. His history with the meat started early, at age eight, when selling beef kids in the neighborhood where he lived. After a few years, Mark and his mother Mafalda, acquired a space in the Municipal Market of Sao Paulo. Worked hard there, to acquire the butcher Mr Prachedes in Humaita Street, already in the neighborhood of Bixiga and transform the Meat House Bassi, where met the rich immigrant city, as a structure, quality and customer care services. Gradually managed to implement a barbecue in the Meat House so they could test for over there even their creations. It was when they started selling sandwiches and Store cuts already baked. The history of prime meat was born there, along with the story of Marcos Bassi, just to differentiate the quality and price of products Marcos Bassi. In 1978 born the "Meat Slaughtering Central Noble Bassi" on May 13th Street, now with a special place to serve some people with their tastings of special breeds and cuts. The desgutacoes did so successfully, that a year later came the steak house in the same place where today the work of Meat Temple facilities. Throughout life, Marcos Bassi learned in practice all about cuts and other technical details such as blood supply, softness and texture. As a craftsman, his hands left cuts enshrined as Candy, made from the rump kernels, and the steak butcher. Also pioneered the vacuum process and meat maturation in Brazil The Temple of meat is then perpetuates as a result of 50 years of a life, invested and dedicated to specialty Bassi: meat. And with the technique learned with Marcos Bassi, born Marcos Bassi culture, ensuring that tradition continues at the Temple of Meat. Come visit us.

I am a spoiled palate, being Italian ( Fiorentina steak) who lived in Argentina for 10 years, I consider myself a tough cookie......Marcos was well beyond expectations! Tasty and tender meat... Just amazing, don't miss it!

Excellent meat (huge portions)! Service very accommodating even though only one of the staff spoke English. Wine superb! Great ambience in an interesting area of the city. Warmly recommended!

Waiters are all over, attentive all the time to take your order or explain any questions. The food is outstanding, carefully prepared and reflective of the menu. Everything in an elegant and cozy place. Pricey, but unavoidably worth returning.

Of all the places I have eaten here so far, this is the place to be! Latin atmosphere and upmarket setting with friendly staff and high service levels. Rapid service and a taste for more. Thinking of eating there again before I go home!! Tasty and perfectly cooked cuts make it a winner.the palm heart is excellent and prepared in front of you.

Bassi is a heritage. I personally recall the founder and the intense effort to develop a top class barbecue Brazilian tradition out of Sao Paulo. Coming to this restaurant to me is like going back ages of my own history. But unfortunately in my opinion tradition and very good meat are not enough nowadays to win all the battles considering restaurants want clients to come back.
Service is old style but sympathetic. Waiting line for a Sunday lunch about a 9-people party in a restaurant that was crowded but not that much should not drive an hour and half wait. You see lots of smaller tables coming etc but the lack of care to a big party waiting is in my opinion unexplainable....at last the crew has to do something to make your stay less painful other than pray for this party to order lots of drinks and appetizers at the bar....sounds and seems outdated. What can be worse? It is finally seating and in the middle of expected confusion @ 3:30 pm letting a big table order too much food that one full dish was packed to take out meaning a 228 reais dish in excess....sounds outdated and unfortunately too frequent to be left outside my commentary.
The meat was very good, well prepared and cooked and served at the right point but living in 2016 I would expect a totally different attitude than what I received. Empathy is good but at the end of the day there would be a bill to pay and even though Bassi crew forgot....a decision to come back to be made.
