This hotel was handy for some of the nicer restaurants, quiet and had friendly staff. It also had an incredible bathroom! However there were a few downsides too.
- As there were three of us we booked what was termed a "suite" and suitable for 3 people. We therefore expected more than one room. However, we arrived to find a double bed and a pull-out sofa bed, as you might get for a couple with a child rather than 3 friends travelling together! This needs to be clearer on the website
- we emailed the hotel two days before we were due to arrive to ask if they might be able to pick us up from the station, as we were arriving in the evening, but they never replied to the email. I wouldn't have minded if they'd replied and said this was not a service they could provide, but they just didn't reply at all - an advertised email address should be checked and emails acknowledged.
- when we arrived in the evening the restaurant and bar were closed. Again, we hadn't been made aware of this anywhere. The website advertised both so we expected them to be available.
- there were a few minor issues with the room. Wifi was only available in the "public areas", but as these were closed we basically had no connection except in our bathroom!
- the shower was broken so whenever you turned off the water the top became too heavy and fell off the wall!
It was fine for a couple of nights, not expensive and fairly comfortable, but I think there are probably better options.
