The course is the old country club and is a reasonable albeit old layout. The price is great and it is easy to get tee times.
With short, narrow, and rolling fairways, this is a fun and reasonably priced course with it's own challenges. Excellently manicured, greens are a little fast and small, but the overall play is a great value compared to courses outside the city limits.
Tad Moore holds his annual Southern Hickory Four-Ball Championship here each year. I've gone four years in a row and enjoy it more each year. The hospitality is outstanding, as is the food and beverage. The golf course, the original Birmingham Country Club (1903), is a treat, quite challenging, scenic, and sneaky tough. Most of the holes were originally designed by Donald Ross, but the whole 18 was renovated in 1988. I played there four days in row this year and was not bored a bit, Highland Park Golf Course keeps your attention.
We played here today. This is a very picturesque course with views of the city as well as historic homes along the course. The rates were very reasonable and the pace of play was 4.5 hours.
This is a historic course where Bobby Jones made one of his early wins on the PGA tour.
We had a good time and will play it again the next time we visit.
Nice course in Birmingham in the city - easy to reach. The holes are relatively short so you can get round quite quickly. However as the fairways are relatively narrow, you need to play an accurate game - slice and you are on the neighbouring fairway! The greens are quite fast.
Staff were very accommodating.
Inner City Course close to offices and in a very nice section of town. Most fairways are on the shorter distances but there are plenty of hills and obstacles to make it challenging. Older but nice facility with close parking. Redone about 5 years ago. Also a tennis Club is at the main facility including clay courts.
