Decor & atmosphere are nothing to write home about. We had some hits & some misses. The hummus & baba ganoush were very good. The Tabouli was super fresh & amazing. The rice was a disappointment for sure. Definitely not authentic. (Although my 10 year old son did love it.) The Lamb was fabulous. Really tender and so flavorful. The rest of the meats (we ordered the meal for 4 & had steak, chicken & beef too) were all just ok. Nothing special, but not bad either. Would not go back.

We were greeted promptly by Moe who ended up being our very pleasant server. Our food was delicious and came out very quickly. It was well prepared and Moe checked to see if we were satisfied. The spinach pie was different (it was not made with phyllo dough) but very flavorful. The prices were reasonable and the portions adequate. We would eat here again if ever in the Five Points area

I don't get to Southside or the UAB area very often.....Makarios is a good, clean food type of restaurant. Whether you are a Vegan or trying to stay on a Paleo diet they should have something to accommodate you. Most times when dining they have been busy; however its not difficult to eat here and be about to get back to work on your lunch hour.

Delicious. Tabouli was different from any I’ve had before. A TON of parsley, very little couscous, the spinach pies were different than I’ve had. Very little spinach filling and the outside was more of a soft yeasty bread- not the layer filo pastry. (Maybe that’s how they do it in Greece, but it’s not like any American Greek food I’ve had.) The hummus was amazing! Smooth and fluffy. Grape leaves amazing. Pita- yummy. Baklava was in the form of round tubes and on the dry side. Sadly, though, there is no alcohol served here.

Ample parking and pleasant middle eastern music playing. Menu was varied and I settled on a kebab served with hummus. Came with a nice salad and warm pita. Delicious and very large portions justifying a to go box!
