Stayed one night in a nice one bedroom. It is a 4-star hotel on the main but quiet road, next to a marina. It's clean and spacious with a very nice bathroom and all necessities for a stay. In the price is included dinner and breakfast and wellness.

Stayed: March 2015, travelled with friends

City of Lovran is a small gem on the eastern coast of Istria peninsula. Few kilometers from the famous Opatija, Lovran will give you charm of a small and romantic city (almost village) with specific, very hospitable and simpatic natives.
The Park hotel is situated ten meters off the sea, three minutes from the city center, on ideal location. But the beach is not that close.
The interior is excellent, rooms are compact but newly renovated and contain all that is needed. Rooms with sea view has small and very valuable balcony, which can be excellent during sunny days.
Personel is extremely hospitable and kind.
Food is very good.
Hotel has welness area, together with swimming pool, but I did not have time for that.

Room Tip: Rooms with sea view are excellent, but are noisy because of the main street under the windows. If you prefere silence, especially during nights, take a room on the "city" side.

Hotel Park is at the great location some 50m from the Beach (check my photo). Even though visit was just in February, the stay was great. At least 10-15km (probably much longer) you have a beautiful stoned coastal path. Only meters away from the awesome old town of Lovran.
Hotel in itself is not 5 star, but beautifully blue painted regular hotel at the great sea destination. Obviously, hotel in it self is not a destination but things around it. It has a swimming pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. Swimming pool doesn't operate during the February for renovation and cleaning, but instead they transfered us (free of charge) to the big and cool Thalaso wellness in a nearby town of Opatija, which was very nice.
Food and service in the hotel was outstanding. Knowing only in the last minute that I am vegetarian, they even cooked me some extra stuff outside of the very tasty buffet.
Finally, nice and friendly owner is originally from Bosnia, but just before war broke out he ended up (and therefore immigrated) in Australia and lived there for 20 years. At some point he wanted to come back and check his root region, and now running this place with his family. With his super cool Australian accent, he represent perfect mix of Ozzie and Bosnian/Croatian friendliness, and was willing to go extra mile in order to satisfy guests.
Some people mention WIFI, but we had very good connection everywhere.

Room Tip: try to get the room with the balcony and the sea view

The best thing about the hotel is its situation. Very easy access to the harbor and the small "old town". A little down scale for four stars, but clean and quiet. Our room faced the sea and had a small balcony. Be aware the safe is one of the funkier kind. The system works once you or at least I screwed it up once, and had to go to reception. Breakfast was standard. There is parking around.

Room Tip: It's nice to face the sea but those rooms overlook the main road. We didn't find the road too noisy.

Although I did not stay in the hotel if your are Australian you need to at least stop here for a beer. The owner is an expat Aussie with Croatian heritage who used to live in Sydney and has built up a nice hotel. He is always happy to have a beer and a long chat with any Australian tourist travelling through the area.

The hotel is right next to the Stari grad at the end of Lovran and is across the road from a swimming area, bar, ice creamery and restaurant. Wonderful views from the balconies I'm sure. The hotel is on the main road which can be busy with cars at times. Also you will here the church bells from the Stari Grad but that is all part of the charm of the town.
