My wife and I stayed at this hotel for a week in early June 2015 Balkan Holidays. We arrived quite late after a 2 hour delay at Manchester and were provided with a large platter of cold meats, cheese and salad in our room. It was very kind of the hotel to provide this but at around midnight and after eating during the flight we struggled to do the meals justice and felt rather guilty for wasting good food. We were pleasantly surprised to discover that we had received a room upgrade which consisted of a very large bedroom and a separate room complete with table and chairs, a bed settee and minibar/fridge. On enquiring about the provision of the upgrade one of the three wonderful lady receptionists informed us that it was "Just something that the hotel liked to do." It was extremely difficult to fault the hotel. It is in a perfect position right by the sea, is kept immaculately clean and nothing is too much trouble for the staff who are to a man (and woman) friendly, helpful and informative as well as being appreciative at my attempts at Croatian which they were happy to advise me on. It would be unfair to single out a particular individual, especially as it is 3 months since our stay and unfortunately I have been unable to remember all the names but who could forget Milan who as well as being a perfect waiter and barman was great company with a wealth of interesting tales to tell. Incidentally the 3 lady receptionists all have an impeccable command of the English language and no doubt other languages too. As the hotel is small the choice of courses for evening meals, presented at breakfast, were not as wide as the buffet arrangements found in larger continental hotels, but were well cooked and provided an adequate choice of options between meat, fish and vegetarian dishes. The breakfasts were fine but once again the choice of food was not as varied as other hotels of comparable size and grading.(See my review of The Hotel Rigoli in Baveno for example.) The Milenji does not have a pool, (not that it needs one given its proximity to the sea) and no shower or changing facilities for those returning on afternoon or evening flights so I would argue that it should not be classified as a 4* hotel. Despite this I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.
