While the main hordes of day-tourists dwindled in the early fall, we found ourselves awaken at 8AM to some rowdy, slightly drunken tourist who inconsiderately shouted and laughed right beneath our window. We had the "best" suite in the house which was only on the 2nd floor and right in front of the square. Our balcony looked over an umbrella where drinks were served.
That being said, the breakfast was generous with always a serving of black truffled scrambled eggs and the room itself was very capacious. The bed was a typical thinner European mattress with wrought iron details. For what is it worth, it's location on the top of Motovun is charming but perhaps living in an apartment might be more interesting. We liked renting the bicycles but riding back up to the mountain was very strenuous. Thank goodness for the shuttle bus that we could hop on to!
It's a lovely place to stay and the only hotel really, but for those who prefer similar accommodations and do not the need the concierge help, try a local rental instead.More
