Nice restaurant with tasty food. Little bit lost in 80's with decoration and ambient, but notin to complain. Ate tuna stake with fries. Stake was excellent.

My girlfriend and I came across this restaurant by accident whilst searching for another place in Palit/Rab. We were too tired to continue our quest and settled for this 80s looking place with no expectations whatsoever - we just wanted a quick meal. Food turned out to be excellent though and staff were GREAT. My girlfriend had staffed peppers and mashed potato (traditional Croatian dish) and I had tuna steak with cooked beets and potatoes (again traditional Croatian side usually served with fish). Both meals were delicious. The owner served us local grappa when we arrived free of charge and made us feel very welcome together with other staff throughout the evening. Outstanding service provided. We loved this place so much that we decided to come again during our stay.
We had an absolutely fantastic experience at Koralj while we stayed on Rab Island in Croatia. The food was priced well and beyond fresh. It was absolutely delicious! You can really tell that the food is harvested fresh from the sea and garden and prepared just minutes before you eat.
The decor was traditional Croatian with a nice terrace area and wood and stone interior. They even had a lovely little fireplace. Very homey feeling.
However, beyond the service, the best part of our experience there was the service. Unlike a lot of restaurants we've visited in Croatia, you get a warm, friendly environment and service with a smile. The staff are fluent in German, Italian, Croatian and thankfully for me, English. :)
We had such a great time at this restaurant that we stayed there talking with the staff until closing time and we decided to stay the night since they have a hotel as well. In the morning, we were treated to a lovely breakfast Croatian style!
I highly recommend visiting Koralj Restoran. It's a short and scenic walk from the main, busier part of town and perfect if you want something away from other tourists and truly authentic. Say hi to Andrej if you're there!
