Imagine waking up, walking about 3 steps to the terrace, and breakfast appears within seconds! Fresh fruit, yougurt, meats, cheeses, croissants, breads, orange juice, and coffee. What more could you want? My husband and I spent 4 nights at Villa Moretti on a 17 day vacation through Croatia, Slovenia, and the Czech Republic. This was my favorite room by far. Emilia was a great hostess from beginning to end. Upon arrival, she hopped in our rental car and directed us to the private parking spot. Her son carried our bags to the room. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean, and decorated in period style. The air conditioning worked well, and there was absolutely no noise when the windows and shutters were closed at night. And I am a very light sleeper. We stayed in room 4 (highly recommended) with views of the harbor, castle, numerous yachts, and the lovely town of Trogir. Via Moretti is actually situated on the island of Ciovo, just steps from the bridge to Trogir. I preferred staying on that side of the harbor because the views were so nice. It took only 5 minutes to walk to the center of Trogir. Emilia recommended several restaurants, Monica being our favorite. She also directed us to ferries and knew the exact times for each one we were interested in. We took a ferry to Split one day, drove to Sibenik and Krka National Park another, and spent the third day relaxing at the beaches on Ciovo. All were good recommendations. The weather was unusually hot, but it only made the water more refreshing. The wireless internet worked well. No complaints whatsoever. Thanks Emilia. We hope to be back someday.

Room Tip: Room 4 is a corner room with fantastic views of Trogir and the harbor.

Stayed here for a week at the beginning of July. Emilia runs an excellent B & B with 4 double rooms looking out over the marina & waterfront of Trogir. It is a busy place in July & was very hot while we were there but our room was air-conditioned & quiet with the double glazing & shutters. We had a big double bed, bathroom, fridge & safe. Every thing was very clean & a lovely breakfast was brought by Emilia each morning. She speaks very good English & gave us lots of tips about how to get around & places to visit etc. We would definitely stay again if we visit the area. Easy access by bus or boat from the quayside to visit Split.

We stayed for 9 nights in mid June, and loved every day. Villa Moretti and Trogir are perfect for a relaxing holiday. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome. The room (no.1) was extremely clean, spacious, and beautifully decorated, and the views across to Trogir were stunning.
The lovely breakfast on the terrace consisted of meats, cheeses, fruit, breads, yummy croissants, orange juice and tea. As the week went on, Emilia brought us more things to try. Emilia was extremely friendly and helpful. She helped with any local information we asked, and gave us ideas for things to do in the day.
Villa Moretti really is a beautiful place to stay, and we would recommend it to anyone. We hope to return soon.

Management response:Responded 6 July 2012

Dear Sir,
Thank you for your review. I am sorry we didnt meet your expectations. Maybe they were to high.
We are not a big new 4 star hotel situated away from the town. On the contraty we are situated in historical (protected) building which has been built long time ago and cant have big windows like modern hotels. Giving you the feel of modern is not our attitude. Darkness in the rooms is coming also
from the fact that you came during the summer and in Croatia is very hot and keeping windows open will let all the sun and hot inside( of course there is AC to cool it but with direct sun it makes it more difficult).
Regarding to the noise it is true that Trogir is close to the airport and that we all hear airplane landing in whole the town.
Also we are located in the town and you cant have quiet and peace atmosphere in the peak season ( for that you have to choose locations away from the town).
Room tip is not good because all rooms have the view of the sea and town (there is no back side room at all).
Value and price comparison in your opinion is not good but this already experienced our another guests who are coming back every year.
Trogir center is not a place to relax on the beach but it is historical pearl with lot of historical monuments to see and feel and therefore is listed on UNESCO list.
It is good to keep all this things in mind to not have wrong expectations.

We stayed here one night prior to catching the ferry from Split. I would advise doing this rather than staying in Split, which is quite large and charmless. The villa does not have that much appeal from the outside, but the room we stayed in was large and clean. I found the furnishings rather modest and the decor somewhat lackluster, as opposed to some of the previous reviews that raved about the antiques. The hostess was very accommodating and offered to call the ferry for us to find out how far in advance we needed to be there. She also recommended several restaurants in town, which is a short walk across a bridge from the villa. Breakfast was nice, served on the patio outside of the room (away from the street). My only complaint about the villa was that it is on a fairly busy street (parking across the street was somewhat of a nightmare) and we did not sleep well given that there was a nearby nightclub that played music until 2 am. However, I discovered the next morning that I had left the window open a bit, and when I closed it the noise was much less noticeable (although still existent). I would probably rate this establishment a 3 1/2, but have given it a 4 because of the congenialty of the hostess and some nice room touches (sherry and cookies on the fridge). Free internet is also included and the price was reasonable (around $100/night).

Our weeks stay at the Villa Moretti went all too quickly. We were greeted at the hotel by the owner Emilia after being collected from the airport by her husband. Our luggage was very quickly taken up stairs to our air conditioned room that was our home for the next week. The room was big, with lots of windows, it smelt beautiful and was the cleanest hotel room we've ever been in. Everything about it was perfect, down the to the little tray with wine, glasses and biscuits, which sat on the stand that also held the well stocked fridge. The bed was huge and very comfortable with its soft cotton sheets and big 'bounce back' pillows and you could just tell that no expense was spared when the rooms were decorated. All 4 guest rooms overlook the walled city of Trogir and have double glazing and shutters to ensure a good nights sleep. Every morning our breakfast of fresh cheese, meats, locally baked bread and the most wonderful sweet croissants oozing yummy chocolate or preserve was served by Emiiia on the beautiful covered balcony along with a bowl of fresh fruit and orange juice, with tea or coffee too. Villa Moretti has a very interesting history and Emilia was very proud to tell us about it as it is her own family history too. She is a really friendly & approachable lady who has lots of local knowledge and is only too pleased to spend time advising on what to do, how to get there or just chatting. Before long, our week had gone and we were saying farewell to Emilia and her beautiful home but we hope one day to return. All in all we can't recommend Villa Moretti highly enough - it really is the most beautiful place to stay, and Trogir & the surrounding area is simply beautiful and interesting.
